EMPLOYMENT OFFER – Social worker / Field Educator – Chiang Mai

 

Baan Dek Foundation (previously known as Kids Home Foundation) is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious, organization based in Chiang Mai that supports over 1000 children in need and their families living in construction sites and slums. Through specifically tailored educational programs and flexible individual support, Baan Dek protects endangered children, allows families to becoming self-sustainable and gives opportunities for a better future.

Responsibilities of the advertised positions:

                                                                               
Baan Dek Foundation is currently looking for professional and dedicated local Social worker / Field Educator who would like to get committed to vulnerable children and migrant communities living on construction areas. Social worker / Field Educator will work under direct supervision of the General Manager in Chiang Mai.

 

The main objective of Baan Dek Foundation's team of social workers is to help vulnerable children and their families to solve social and economical issues in daily life, allowing the families to reach sustainability and ensuring every child access to Education, Health and Safety the well-being of their kids.


Role and responsibilities include - but are not restricted to:
 

Social counseling to the children and their families and implementation of support plan through social work activities;

Preparation and coordination of trainings and on field lifeskill sessions for the children;

Run on field collective educational activities;

Follow-up and reporting on social work activities;

Communication about the projects and activities to beneficiaries;

On-field investigation to reach the objectives of the project;

Potentially support in terms of administrative / legal matters related to the Foundation status;

Identify and develop partnerships with relevant local partners (schools, medical centers, social services, etc.)

 

Required skills:


Nationality: Thai or South East Asia nationals

Age: preferably graduates with experience in the field of social work / educational activity coordination

Training: Degree or experience in relevant field (social work, special education, health, psychology,...)


Language skills: Fluent Thai (spoken and written) and English proficient speaking and writing skills. Burmese/Shan/Tha-Yai/Khmer nationals are encouraged to send their application.

If South East Asia nationals must have Fluent Thai (spoken and understand)  

Other skills/interests: committed to social work/child welfare, dedication for non-profit work, communication and human relations skills, teamwork ability, flexibility on working hours, tolerance & human values, highly motivated, positive energy & spirit, ability to work autonomously, ability to understand family situation and conduct assessments.

 

Experience to work as training facilitator/teacher/animator or with mother and baby/toddler considered as an asset.

 

Working hours: Full time - Monday to Friday (full-time position) + occasionally on weekend + evenings

Salary: Starting 13.000 ++ THB (To be defined based on experience and qualifications. Complementary advantages provided (food, transportation & phone allowance, etc.)

 

Starting date: asap, one year contact
