Position title: Advocacy Coordinator
Department/office: Southeast Asia Regional Office, Chiang Mai
Duty station: Chiang Mai, Thailand
Contract Duration: 1 year (possible extension subject fund availability)

2. Background Information of IOGT-NTO Movement
The International Institute of the IOGT-NTO Movement (III) is a Swedish Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). The International Institute support development activities in East Africa, Asia and East Europe. The programmes focus on building a strong civil society and networks to decrease alcohol and drug-related problems. We work through local civil society partners and through advocacy and lobbying together with international organizations.
III Regional Offices (RO) located in Chiang Mai Thailand, is working in cooperation with different partners and networks and also government institutions at different levels, both at national and regional level.
3. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
In cooperation with the Policy Advisor, coordinate with all stakeholders (partners organisations, academic institutes, national parliamentarians, other CSOs etc.) for research and studies on alcohol related harm;
Focal point for collection of evidence-based information on alcohol related harm at local, national and regional level;
Develop platforms for networking at local, national and regional level;
Develop routines for collection and documentation of best practices;
Monitor and assess law implementation at local and national level;
Documentation of alcohol policy advocacy work at local and national level;
Advocacy related capacity building need assessments and plans;
Counterpart to at least one local partner organization
4. Qualification
Minimum of 3 years of experience working on advocacy, experience from alcohol or health advocacy is an advantage;
Excellent coordination and facilitation skills;
Basic knowledge on project research, data collection tools and data analysis;
Experience working in partnerships with a multitude of stakeholders which includes health, human rights, donor and civil society organizations;
Ability to work efficiently under pressure, both with limited or adequate day-to-day support, and a willingness to take on different projects and tasks as need arises;
Excellent English writing and communication skills, knowledge of Southeast Asian language is an added advantage;
Open to sharing knowledge and experience, and coordinating efforts with stakeholders;
Thai or ASEAN nationalities living in Thailand;
Ability to travel in the SEA region;
