Summary |
The Suwannimit Foundation is a Thailand registered foundation dedicated to strengthening the operational capacity, programmatic impact and the sustainability of community-based organizations that service underprivileged people on the Tak border. We are seeking for a Health Officer as part of a team who will implement the health strategies of the Foundation and its local partners. The role will provide technical support to partners in strengthening their services in providing health care for vulnerable people in the border. The position requires a person with a management, coordination and particularly background in public health. The work involves working in a multi-cultural background. To be effective in this role, the candidate must be able to speak Thai and either Burmese or Karen. |

Job Specific |
Role 1: Provide technical support to partners in strengthening their services (50%) · Assist local partner in developing its annual community outreach work plan and on how to monitor progress. The work plan may include the following: § Assist to monitor health status to identify community health problems. § Diagnose and investigate health problems and health hazards in the community. § Inform, educate, and empower people about health issues. § Mobilize community partnerships to identify and solve health problems. § Develop policies and plans that support individual and community health efforts. § Enforce laws and regulations that protect health and ensure safety. § Link people to needed personal health services and assure the provision of health care when otherwise unavailable. § Assure a competent public health and personal health care workforce. § Evaluate effectiveness, accessibility and quality of personal and population-based health services. · Provide mentoring on best practices for an outreach program including tools such as IEC and its information dissemination. · Assist in mobilizing communities and providing guidance on how to work with the local public health office. · Mentor local partners on how to develop a sustainable community outreach program such as aligning activities to the RTG programs. · Assist partners in coordinating with the RTG for those areas which they cannot directly implement.
Role 2: Collaborations with Thai authorities (20%) · Assist Health Coordinator in supporting RTG in its collaborations with border-based clinics. · Understand the RTG health programs and collaborate with local health authorities on expanding the national program to the target populations of the project. · Participate in events and other health collaborations to enhance good working relationships
Role 3: Program planning and monitoring (20%) · Provide inputs during project design and planning to support health strategies. · Take lead in monitoring the indicators under his role.
Role 4: Administrative and Reporting (10%) · Monthly report to Health Coordinator. Other adhoc duties as assigned |

Work Experience |
1. 3+ year of experience working in public health sector (government or INGO/NGO/CBO) 2. Familiarity with Thailand public health system, preferably including Myanmar public Health context; 3. Takes initiative to learn things and possess research skills; 4. Ability to identify problems related to health issues; 5. Ability to demonstrate sensitivity in and exposure to cross-cultural situations; 6. Ability to work independently and is self-motivated. |

Moderated skills in computerization such as; - Word processing; - Spread sheet; - Outlook, e-mail; - Social medias. |

Language(s) |
1. Proficiency in Thai and good command in English 2. Burmese and/or Karen
