The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims of armed conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with assistance. The ICRC Regional Delegation in Bangkok seeks to fill the following position:

Senior Advisor to the Management 100%

  • Job purpose

As a member of the management team of the ICRC regional delegation in Bangkok, covering operations in Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, the Senior Advisor position must contribute autonomously through analysis, coordination, representation and reporting work, bringing unique added value to the team. This position reports directly to the Head of Regional Delegation.

Main responsibilities

The position holder will have the following responsibilities:

  • Advises the delegation management on the political, social and economic situation within the region and on the analysis of security related issues.
  • Advises the delegates involved in training programs for the armed and security forces in Thailand, provides relevant input for seminars
  • In coordination with the delegation management, develops and maintains contacts with relevant officials and representatives of ministries, armed forces and security services, academic institutions, civil society organizations, etc.
  • Participates in meetings, both with the delegation management and independently, provides translation services, if required, and drafts minutes of meeting.
  • Contributes to the internal annual planning and to internal and external reporting, as required.
  • Contributes to the development of all types of initiatives and innovative actions in support of the programs of the regional delegation

Selection requirements and experience

  • University Degree
  • Minimum 5 years’ work experience in a similar field
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Thai
  • Excellent computer skills
