Job announcement
The Women Exchange Project is one of many projects under MAP Foundations Right For All (RFA) program. RFA addresses rights that are particularly challenging for migrants to exercise, like right to heath care, right to safety and protection, and right to be an empowered woman.
The Women Exchange (WE) part of the program addresses the rights of migrant women, providing migrant and refugee women a space to share their experiences and address issues to particular concern. The program aims at breaking down barriers between women, sometimes created by ethnicity, language, class, background, or occupation and providing a platform for women to learn about their rights are experiment with voicing their opinions. The program has a particular focus on addressing violence against women through education, training and providing legal assistance.
The WE Organiser and Case Manager works independently but in collaboration with the WE Communication and Advocacy officer. The WE Organiser and Case Manager reports to the RFA coordinator. (see following page for details)
Essential fluent Burmese and proficient English (spoken and written). Conversational Thai is desirable to contact police station and hospital. Shan is also an asset.
Good computer skills (word and excel)
2 years’ experience in writing reports to funders; in facilitating workshops and meetings; in counselling and case management
Knowledge of Thai law and legal processes desirable
Knowledge of SRHR
Knowledge and understanding of feminist approaches
Excellent interpersonal skills

Women Exchange monthly meeting management |

Duty |
10 women Exchange groups are active currently and meet once every 2 months. The groups are led by a leader who organises the meetings, looks for facilitators, contact women in local area. The WE group also offers support to women in crisis. The group leader liaises with the WE organiser & Case manager. The aim is for groups to become self-reliant and develop the project into format of sub-grants to increase women’s ownership of the project. |

Performance Standards |
· Keep regular contacts with WE groups · Create and update contact list and share with WE communication and advocacy officer · Follow up and clear local WE groups’ Daily accounts monthly · Follow up and record local WE Meeting minutes monthly · Create and collect Case data into excel forms monthly · Collect and record WE Members’ feedback quarterly · Record WE meeting topics and provide suggestions to ensure themes are progressing and keep members engaged · Write quarterly reports on WE meetings including quantitative and qualitative data · Manage Financial transactions and bill clearing for this activity, produce financial report for funders |

Domestic Violence Case Management |

Duty |
The WE organiser and Case manager responds to women in crisis in Chiang Mai, either referred by the CM WE group leader or through the MAP migrant line. The aim is that migrant women have access to justice. On the long term, the aim is that women learn strategy to prevent domestic violence and assist others. |

Performance Standards |
· Respond to hotline in Chiang Mai (phone) · Collect data on phone calls answered and advice given · Support WE leaders in handling cases in local areas · Visit victims · Provide counselling, mediation, contact police & hospital · Organise Referral to MAP legal team or relevant organization · Collect confidential data in excel file as case happen · Report every 6 months to coordinator, including quantitative data and case studies |

Publication and Media production |

Duty |
Written publication and visual media production are tools to advocate for WE project and provide migrant women with a platform for representation. The aim is to produce materials that challenge attitudes about gender, migrant women, and promotes women's rights. |

Performance Standards |
· Update monthly WE Facebook newsfeed and MAP website news · Produce handbook, documentary etc. in order to publicize WE work/achievements, and migrant women's voices. (1 publication and 1 documentary per year) · Research news on above issues, current issues, and translate them into Burmese (weekly) and share with WE organiser and case manager, WE radio DJ and post on WE social media |

Radio Program and DJ Management |

Duty |
WE project broadcasts on MAP radio twice a week in Burmese to spread information about women’s rights, sexual reproductive health rights, domestic violence, labour rights, financial security, education, and networking. The aim is to share practical information, news about women’s initiatives to inspire migrant women. |

Performance Standards |
· Help DJ develop themes monthly within a 6 month plan · Listen to program weekly and coach DJ bi-monthly · Train DJ on recording/ or directly collect info on listeners’ calls and questions · Include Radio achievement in WE project main report, (Quantitative and qualitative data) |

Project Planning and sustainability |

Duty Statement |
WE project staff develops the project according to project results and migrant women’s current needs in accordance with proposal and log frame. Project staff and the RFA coordinator develop strategies for funding, project sustainability and quality. |

Performance Standards |
· Produce final reports to WE project funders · Participate and contribute in WE strategic planning meeting (yearly) · Present summary of activities SWAT at the planning meeting |

Networking (Invited by other Organizations) |
|
|
Duty |
Staff will represent the project and the organisation at network meetings and to donors to promote the project and reinforce project sustainability, promote migrant women representation and advocate for women’s rights. |
|
Performance Standards |
· Attend meetings and report to RFA and MAP on report content and staff participation, including contacts made with other organisation representative that are relevant to the project. · Find/ keep abreast of opportunities relevant to migrant women’s issues |
