Regional Communications Manager
Terms of Reference
Position: Regional Communications Manager (Locally Engaged)
Duration: 12 months (with possible extension)
Location: Bangkok - with travel within the ASEAN Region as required.
Reports to Team Leader
The Australia–Asia Program to Combat Trafficking in Persons (AAPTIP) is a five-year (2013–2018) AU$50m initiative of the Australian aid program that aims to reduce the incentives and opportunities for trafficking of persons in the Association of South East Asia Nations (ASEAN) region.
AAPTIP builds on Australia’s long-term support for programs to strengthen the criminal justice response to human trafficking in Asia. These programs include the Asia Regional Cooperation to Prevent People Trafficking (ARCPPT; 2003–2006), and the Asia Regional Trafficking in Persons (ARTIP; 2006–2013) project.
AAPTIP focuses on the prosecution pillar of anti-trafficking at the national and regional level targeting the exploitation phase. Support will be provided to the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC), and the direct partner countries Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam while linking with other ASEAN Member States.
AAPTIP will strengthen the criminal justice response to trafficking by:
enhancing regional and national investigative, prosecutorial and judicial cooperation on trafficking cases;
Summary of Role
The role of the Regional Communications Manager is to support program implementation through effective and influential communications approaches. This role will also build confidence in and understanding of Australia’s contribution through the Program by external audiences, including justice sector partners, other relevant assistance programs, civil society and NGO peers so that they support it; and by program staff so that they support each other.

4. Ensure DFAT rules on style guides, branding and publicity are followed.
5. Promote gender equity in communication messages for the program.
6. Other duties as directed.

Reports to: The Communications Manager reports to the Team Leader and will submit monthly progress reports and a six month Workplan updated every two months.
Duration: 12 months
Commencement: December 2016
Location: Bangkok, Thailand, with travel to the ASEAN Region.
Remuneration: This position will be remunerated depending on the years and level of experience and local market rates.
