Background/IRC Summary: The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, the IRC is at work in over 40 countries and 26 U.S. cities helping people to survive, reclaim control of their future and strengthen their communities. The IRC has been operating in Thailand since 1975 and currently provides assistance to displaced persons in Tak, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Mae Hong Son provinces.
Job Overview/Summary: As part of a team based in Tham Hin the Women’s Protection and Empowerment Program officer is responsible for supporting the management of the program, coordination with partners organizations (in and out of the camp) and provide support to camp based staffs and health staffs on GBV related issues by the guidance of Program Manager. The WPE Program Officer primary responsibility is to assist the necessary arrangement for the program activities and work with the other team members, under the guidance of program manager to ensure different component of the program are integrated effectively to achieve the goals and objective of the program, providing training and working with health staff to build skills and knowledge about GBV by the guidance of Program Manager. This also includes working with survivors of GBV to assess the services that they need and receive. He/She will also oversee the vulnerable adolescent girls empowerment project. He/She reports to WPE Manager.
