The ICRC regional delegation in Bangkok provides assistance to victims of violence and works with authorities in order to improve the conditions in detention facilities. It also endeavours to promote and to strengthen humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.                                                                                          We are looking for a

SOCIAL MEDIA OFFICER, based in Bangkok

(Communication Officer)

 As a key member of the communication team, the social media officer will provide specific communication-related input and support related to digital communication and writing/editing for various departments and all ICRC offices in the regional delegation that covers Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.

Your main responsibilities:

• Autonomously defines, implements and evaluates the digital strategy for the delegation
• Develops, creates, uploads, monitors and evaluates content of the online platforms of the

           ICRC in the Thailand regional delegation

• Supports and assists supervising the work of the social media officer based in Cambodia
• Ensures regular monitoring of media/social media in English and local languages, and

           shares alerts and analysis to internal clients

• Writes and edits documents or articles for various communication tools

Your education and experience:

• University degree in Journalism or Communication and/or Humanities is essential
• Minimum 3-year experience in digital/online communication within public information and mass media
• Knowledge of a broad range of digital communication techniques and tools, with technical skills in

           delivering communication outputs

Competencies requirements:

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English and Thai
• Knowledge of a broad range of digital communication techniques and tools,

           with technical skills in delivering communication outputs

• Outstanding knowledge of social media platforms and strategies as well as knowledge of

            different crowdsourcing methodologies

• Expertise in the use of RSS, Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, Drupal or other HTML coding, MailChimp,

           Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere Pro/other video editing softwares

• Enjoys travelling in the region and beyond with possibility to work on some weekends as needed
