Gender Equality and Inclusion Advisor

Position: Gender Equality and Inclusion Advisor
Assignment Type: Regular, full time
Location: This position can be based in either Bangkok or Vientiane with time spent equally
in both countries. Approximately 25% of the travel time to programme areas.

Job purpose: Oversees and monitors Plan’s Gender Equality Policy • Strives to ensure that all programmes are gender transformative • Provides technical support and leadership in gender equality • Provides support to advocacy objectives • Builds capacity of staff and partners formally and informally • Reviews all proposals/project documents to ensure submissions have measurable indicators on gender equality • Monitors and evaluates the implementation of projects and programmes with respect to gender equality.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience: Minimum five years of demonstrated professional experience leading or advising programmes that are mainstreaming gender • Ability to translate gender theory into practical action • Knowledge of current best practice in gender equality • Track record of coaching, training, facilitation and awareness raising • Influencing, representational and advocacy skills. • Experience of working with children and communities is an advantage • University degree in relevant area with Master’s degree preferred • Excellent language skills in English (written and oral), and Thai or Lao • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment • Excellent communications skills.
