The funding provided for this consultancy and the baseline data it will provide is coming from the European Union and a financing instrument for development cooperation called The Aid to Uprooted People (AUP). The specific objective to provide funds to this project is to continue with the provision of basic Health and WaSH services (including rehabilitation services) in targeted refugee shelter camps at the same time preparing Myanmar refugees for a possible return process.
Malteser International and Handicap International are working in refugee shelters on the Thailand-Myanmar border with funding provided under the same project.
KAP Survey Consultant
Job Location: Mae Sariang, Mae Hong Son province with visits and work in Sob-Moei District (Mae Ra Ma Luang and Mae La Oon camps) and Mae Sot with visits to Tak camps (Mae La, Umpiem Mai, and Nu Po).
Survey Duration: 3 months starting from March 2017
Scope of the KAPB survey
The “KAPB” study aims to explore the Knowledge, Attitude, Practices and Behavior of the target communities regarding general health, WASH, and physical rehabilitation for people with disabilities.
The KAPB survey will target Myanmar refugees living in 5 camps along the Thai-Myanmar border,
Budget Allocation: Up to 110,000 THB
Survey Methodology
Quantitative data will be collected through individual questionnaires and/or interviews. The sample of persons to participate in the KAPB survey will have different profiles (age range, impairments, direct beneficiaries and caregivers, different types of impairments, religion, gender and from all the 5 targeted camps). A sampling technique should be designed to determine a representative sample size in order to provide accurate and useful information and set a baseline for the project.
Data Entry and Analysis
Data entry will be done using appropriate data analyzing software prepared by the Consultant but with local staff trained on data entry. The Consultant will also after data entry make sure data have been validated properly.
Report writing
A draft report will be submitted to the contracting agency who will be reviewing and provide feedback that shuld be incorporated before a final version is submitted.
