Chemonics International seeks multiple positions for an anticipated five-year USAID-funded sustainable landscapes activity in Southeast Asia. The project’s objective is to catalyze private sector finance to upscale and drive investments in agriculture, forestry, and other land use (AFOLU) toward low emission, profitable business models. This position will be based in Bangkok, Thailand.

Position Descriptions:

AFOLU Advisor

• Identify investment opportunities in low-emission land management. Assist businesses and projects on the verge of adopting sustainable, low-emission practices to facilitate their access to finance to scale-up low emission land use and green their supply chain.

Senior Finance advisor

• Augment investments in sustainable landscapes through support to companies and banks to formulate green bonds. Build capacity of fund managers and banks to improve and standardize environmental, social and governance guidelines and systems to develop ecosystems for sustainable landscape investment in the region

PPP Specialist

• Build partnerships and alliances with public private sector parties to spur investments in AFOLU sector.

Communities of Practice Advisor

• Will assist in promoting the sharing of knowledge and lessons learned across countries and landscapes, and developing or strengthening effective platforms for building a community of practice dedicated to identifying and financing business models that support low-emissions land use management.

MRV Specialist

• Lead work in closing gaps between the science and its practical application in the design, implementation and use of monitoring, reporting, and verification systems related to the AFOLU sector. Ensure that local and regional MRV practitioners/stakeholders have access to relevant information and capacities as needed.

M&E Specialist

• Work with the defined baseline for project performance indicators related to AFOLU and collection of baseline data in coordination with technical project specialists.

Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in in finance, impact investment, banking, AFOLU, or related field
• Minimum 7-10-years’ professional experience in sustainable landscapes, natural resource management, private sector development, or related experience
• Minimum 5-years’ professional experience in Southeast Asia
• Minimum 5-years’ experience managing and implementing complex donor funded projects and working collaboratively with a broad range of government officials, the private sector, banks, and other key stakeholders
• Fluency in English required, proficiency in Thai or another Southeast Asian regional language desirable
