Job Purpose - Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The Finance Assistant will be responsible for providing a variety of specialized tasks in finance functions, ensuring accurate and timely delivery that is in compliance with Oxfam financial rules and regulations, whilst demonstrating the capacity to adapt and evaluate irregular cases, and also to recommend improvements to process delivery and design.
Technical Skills, Experience & Knowledge
Key responsibilities:
- Advised and processed Thailand Country invoices and expense payments to Oxfam’s standard procedures and statutory requirements.
- Upload all authorised payments and journal transactions into Peoplesoft in accordance with accounting standards.
- Process tax and other statutory benefits, make payments and maintain records accordingly
- Maintain and monitor petty cash and cash balance.
- Support Finance Officer in the processing of top-ups requests.
- Support Finance Officer in the generating of budget variance reports and providing analysis for the significant movement and variances, and other financial reports required.
- Prepare monthly Bank and accounts reconciliations, floats, advances reconciliation
- To assist in the producing of monthly Thailand budget monitoring report.
- Process invoices, expenses, journals on behalf of other entities hosted by the Thailand Country Programme
- Maintains financial records and monitoring systems to record and reconcile expenditures, balances, payments, statements and other data for day-to-day transactions and reports
- Support the Finance Officer to ensure appropriate recharges made as per service level agreement
- Other tasks as assigned by line manager.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCE:
- Qualification in accounting related study and minimum 3 years experience.
- Good computer skills including financial software and excel proficiency.
- Sound numerical and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
