Winrock International is recruiting local applicants for the position of Private Sector Engagement Specialist for the anticipated USAID-funded Thailand Counter Trafficking in Persons (TCTIP) project. The responsibilities, duties, and qualifications are described in the attached position description. Position is contingent upon receipt of donor funding.

Position Description

 

POSITION TITLE:                               Private Sector Engagement Specialist, Thailand Counter Trafficking in Persons (TCTIP)

LOCATION:                                         Bangkok, Thailand

DEPARTMENT:                                  Civil Society & Education

REPORTS TO:                                    Chief of Party or Deputy Chief of Party

 

Position Summary:

The Private Sector Engagement Specialist will build partnerships with the private sector to advance the Thailand Counter Trafficking in Persons (TCTIP) prevention and protection strategies.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The private sector engagement specialist will lead opportunity identification and strategy development and implementation for partnering with private sector entities. S/he will be responsible for mapping private sector stakeholders and facilitate the creation of sustainable and meaningful private sector contributions into TCTIP.

 

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Create and implement an overarching strategy for private sector engagement in pursuit of TCTIP objectives, including enhanced ethical standards and practices and reduced demands and incentives for using trafficked labor in supply chains;
  • Conduct stakeholder mapping and analysis to determine the most effective ways of bringing in private sector resources over the life of the project;
  • Develop and execute a communications and marketing plan aimed at mobilizing relevant private sector support in line with the project’s objectives;
  • Prepare and integrate a measurable and time-bound workplan into the TCTIP workplan, indicating concrete results and interventions for private sector engagement at all levels of project implementation;
  • Manage relationships and agreements with private sector entities;
  • Coordinate with the USAID Asia CTIP program, a Winrock-implemented regional program working to strengthen cross-border efforts to combat TIP, in implementation of private sector engagement;
  • Monitor and document the outcomes of the private sector component of the workplan, highlighting good practices, lessons learned and ways forward
  • Train TCTIP staff and partners in private sector engagement approaches;
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education:           Advanced degree in the field of project management, business administration, marketing communications, economics, law, or related field.

 

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in the technical areas of partnership development with private sector institutions in Thailand related to international development or human rights.

 

Skills/Knowledge:       

  • Knowledge of the Thailand regulatory framework related to enterprises, business finance, and corporate social responsibility.
  • Knowledge of key industries, such as construction, or agriculture, preferred
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, creative problem solving, and ethical management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Thai
  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software

SALARY:

The annual salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits.
