Starfish Country Home School Foundation is in the process of transforming its residential program in Chiang Mai to create a family-like environment for children who need to live at the center to access education, while reintegrating into their families those children who can return home.
We have the facilities and resources to create a family environment for the children in living transition to this place, so that they could build relationships based on acceptance, respect and tenderness.
We currently host over 90 students in our residential program.
The residential programs were first planned over 10 years ago when many remote villages had no schools and roads were in poorer conditions. Much has changed in Thailand and the Foundation is undergoing a restructuring and stronger emphasis will be based on the ability to support families to look after their children while ensuring they can access and remain in schools while living at home.
We look for a Residential program coordinator who agrees with our view that every child deserves to live with his/her family and does not see residential program as a viable alternative except in few specific cases.
