Overall purpose of job: In 2016 Amnesty International Thailand launched our fundraising programme. We are looking for a new Head of Fundraising and Development to lead our fundraising programme and deliver our ambitious growth targets. You will inherit a team of three fundraisers, a F2F in-house programme, an agency programme and a brand new website for digital fundraising. We are looking for someone to build upon and grow a sustainable fundraising programme, to maximise net income and grow the base of national supporters within the Thai context. To provide strong and visionary leadership in the development and implementation of Amnesty International Thailand’s Fundraising Strategy and Plan under growth objective, working closely with the International Fundraising Team of Amnesty International.
Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy and Implementation
• Implement short-and long- term growth and fundraising plans for Amnesty International, including individual donor recruitment, retention and development strategies
• Develop or adapt messages and marketing materials in order to motivate, inspire and engage potential supporters into action on behalf of Amnesty International
• Manage existing relationships with contracted supplier agencies.
• Manage and develop our F2F in-house, agency and digital fundraising programmes.
• Build effective partnerships with contracted supplier agencies and oversee all aspects of their work on behalf of Amnesty
• Ensure high quality of training and performance management of AI Thailand’s Fundraising Team
• Lead the monitoring and analysis of fundraising activities against agreed targets
• Systematically develop ways to integrate fundraising with the campaigning, activist and media aspects of Amnesty International’s work
• Manage our effective centralized supporter relationship management system capable of supporting integrated mobilization of activism and resources
• Research and identify new fundraising opportunities and develop appropriate strategies for each
• Ensure that fundraising activities consistently reflect the values of Amnesty Internationaland comply with relevant legal regulations.
Budget Management
• Develop and manage the fundraising expenditure budget of Amnesty International Thailand and take overall responsibility for efficient administration of donor transactions.
• Ensure good financial management practices and regular financial reporting of fundraising income
Team leadership and management
• Recruit and develop the members of fundraising team
• Conduct performance analysis of the fundraising and development program in order to assess efficiency and effectiveness, and lead the team in ongoing improvement.
• Undertake other duties as required to ensure the proper functioning of the team
Qualifications
Essential
• A degree in Marketing, Development studies, Social sciences, Communications or relevant field from a recognized institution
• At least five-year professional work experience in a similar field
• Experience of database management
• Proven track record of success in individual giving fundraising, especially in F2F and digital fundraising.
• Proven co-ordination and project management skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Self-motivation
• Good command of English (spoken and written)
• If you are a non-Thai speaker – a good understanding of Thai fundraising context, human rights situation and a desire to learn more about Thai culture.
• Ability to work well on multiple tasks under pressure
• Ability to travel or sometimes work irregular hours or on weekends
• Commitment to Amnesty International’s mission and principles
Desirable
• Experience and knowledge of human rights and social justice and/or education
• Experience in managing funding from governments and aid agencies, private sector donors
• Some spoken Thai
• Existing right to work in Thailand
