Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty.
Are you motivated by the potential that different approaches to business provide to sustainable development?
Do you have the skills to lead a complex, multi-country, multi-partner programme which is working to influence the private sector on women’s empowerment and climate resilience?
If the answer is yes, then would like to hear from you.
Oxfam GB is looking for an exceptional Team Lead who is motivated by the potential that different approaches to business provide to sustainable development.
With the support of the Programme Management Unit and a team of expert technical advisers, the post-holder will lead the delivery of a complex, multi-million programme across five countries in South-East Asia, working with Oxfam country teams and multiple national and regional partners.
Our next Team Lead will require an individual who can integrate different approaches to engagement with the private sector – e.g. partnership and advocacy – who can go beyond ‘inclusion’ and income benefits, to influencing business to take a more holistic approach that incorporates women’s empowerment and climate resilience.
They will need sensitivity to a broad range of women’s rights issues. Demonstrated success in complex project and financial management is needed. Considerable project implementation will be carried out by other teams – e.g. Oxfam country teams – so the ability to motivate and ensure quality delivery, even where no direct management line exists will be critical. Across the programme standard approaches to critical themes such as women’s economic empowerment and climate resilience need to be developed and used as a basis for collective learning and influencing.
The post-holder will have to ensure project staff from diverse backgrounds and interests are working together as ‘one programme’ rather than a set of separate projects.
This role will give you an opportunity to increase the positive impact of programme interventions in support of our aim to alleviate the injustice of poverty. We do this by driving higher quality programming and learning within Oxfam, developing more integrated approaches to programming, by networking across teams and offices and increasing the influence of Oxfam’s leadership on policy and practice internally and externally. PSIT is home to a number of Multi-Country Programmes (MCPs) of which GRAISEA is one. MCPs are a core strategy to realise our ambition.
Through MCPs, we work with country programmes to pilot and bring to scale new programme strategies in a combination of different interventions which leverages experience and innovation from across the confederation and the broader sector, enables learning across different contexts and to share that learning more widely, and bring evidence to influence policy and practice at a regional and global level.
Oxfam is committed to preventing any type of unwanted behaviour at work including sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse, lack of integrity and financial misconduct; and committed to promoting the welfare of children, young people, adults and beneficiaries with whom Oxfam GB engages. Oxfam expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment through our code of conduct. We place a high priority on ensuring that only those who share and demonstrate our values are recruited to work for us.
The post holder will undertake the appropriate level of training and is responsible for ensuring that they understand and work within the safeguarding policies of the organisation.
All offers of employment will be subject to satisfactory references and appropriate screening checks, which can include criminal records and terrorism finance checks. Oxfam GB also participates in the Inter Agency Misconduct Disclosure Scheme. In line with this Scheme, we will request information from job applicants’ previous employers about any findings of sexual exploitation, sexual abuse and/or sexual harassment during employment, or incidents under investigation when the applicant left employment. By submitting an application, the job applicant confirms his/her understanding of these recruitment procedures.
We are committed to ensuring diversity and gender equality within our organisation and encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply.
Please note this role will be based in one of these countries: Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand or Philippines depending on candidate right to work.
