We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the part-time consultancy of: Senior Technical Advisor, Provider Performance Improvement, Better Health Programme (BHP) Thailand.

 

Position Description:

The Better Health Programme (BHP) Thailand is a 3.5-year programme funded by the UK Government’s Prosperity Fund and aims to reduce non-communicable disease (NCD) burden in Thailand by improving access to safe, quality care using equitable, ethical and sustainable approaches. The programme will accomplish this through the implementation of a set of activities in the following areas: 1) Strategies to Counter NCDs; 2) Health Education and Training; and 3) Provider Performance Improvement.

The Senior Technical Advisor, Provider Performance Improvement will provide high level technical inputs and assistance to healthcare accreditation and patient and personnel safety activities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and provide technical inputs and direction for healthcare accreditation performance assessment and patient and personnel safety activities;
  • Work closely with Country Technical Lead and Senior Technical Specialist for Provider Performance Improvement to provide high-level technical inputs and assistance to the Healthcare Accreditation Institute (HAI) to explore evidence-based accreditation assessment models that could be applied within the Thai context;
  • Provide high-level technical assistance to HAI in developing and piloting accreditation performance assessment tools and in updating accreditation standards;
  • Provide high-level technical assistance to the National Reporting and Learning System (NRLS) to conduct a systematic assessment of the current NRLS to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement;
  • Participate in cross-learning technical meetings/workshops either in-person or virtually between UK, international and Thai experts to improve healthcare accreditation and patient and personnel safety in Thailand; and
  • Provide ongoing high-level technical support to NRLS implementation and link with global databases.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Medical degree or at least Master’s degree or equivalent in Public Health, Health Sciences, Health Systems Strengthening, Development Studies, Development Management, or related field;
  • Extensive experience in international/regional health professional regulatory work, including legal systems/procedures related to regulations, licensing, and accreditation and patient and personnel safety;
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills and experience working with stakeholders including government departments in Southeast Asia countries;
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing; and
  • Fluent in written and oral Thai is an advantage.
