Position: Country Finance Manager
Location: Bangkok
JOB BACKGROUND:
The Finance Director will provide financial leadership, management and oversight of Plan Thailand and the Thai Regional Office including accounting, reporting and treasure functions. He/she will give financial inputs and review the Country Strategy, take part in transition processes and provide CO management with information and data that will allow sound business decisions. While this position does oversee transactions of the Regional Office in Bangkok it doesn’t have a significant regional role covering other countries in the region.
JOB PURPOSE:
- Maintenance of financial reports. Keeping the financial record of Plan Thailand and the Regional Office up to date by analyzing and overseeing the recording of transactions in Plan’s Accounting software.
- Budgeting and Fiscal accountability; lead the process with CMT staff in establishing and actively revising budgets; monitoring, analysing and taking actions on budget spending; Advise CD on any significant variations as they arise and propose remedial action if required.
- Year end, monthly and quarterly reporting processes; oversee the timely and accurate production of a range of reports; provide advice on actions required as a result of analysis arising the reports.
- Cash management; manage actions from the review of bank reconciliations and fund request monitoring and manage the effective and efficient use of resources.
- Grants reporting; work with the Program staff and Managers in working the financial grants reports and making sure that it is aligned to the donor requirement; Ensure GAD processes are up kept up to date; oversee and reconciliation of the grants tracking system.
- Ensuring that Plan Thailand and the Regional Office is meeting all the legal and statutory requirements.
- Tailor standardised internal financial controls processes; ensure that disbursement are properly and timely; manage a proper level of advances to third parties; review or perform assessment of partner: finance, accounting, governance and management practices; ensuring internal financial control process, procedures and systems are in place; support the management in managing risk.
Qualifications and experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Financial management tasks, accounting, and internal control experience with at least 3 years at management level
- Experience working for international organization will be advantage
