Prevention was established by the Thai Red Cross AIDS Research Center (TRCARC) with the aim to conduct research on effective prevention of HIV/AIDS and related diseases and to develop efficient HIV/AIDS prevention and management strategies for key populations at national and international levels.
PREVENTION was first established as “Special Activity Group” in 2003 with the mission to conduct research on the prevention of mother-to-child HIV transmission (PMTC). With expansion of its scope, the group was renamed “Prevention Unit” in 2014 to reflect its central role and key focus in HIV prevention research.
Role Overview: The position will be responsible for providing training and capacity building on KPLHS and related topics to community health workers in PEPFAR priority provinces and other trainees. These include training curriculum development, session plan design, facilitating selected training sessions, training management and evaluation, assessment for training certification, as well as training logistics. The position will coordinate with relevant government agencies and private sector for branding and marketing of training courses, technical assistance, and the TA platform.
Core Accountability & Responsibility:
1. Develop training modules and session plans related to his/her expertise
2. Develop training manual as assigned
3. Prepare budget and coordinate logistics for the training courses as assigned
4. Facilitate training sessions on his/her area of expertise
5. Monitor training activities for the training courses as assigned
6. Conduct training evaluation and prepare training report
7. Provide coaching to CBO trainees on certification assessment
8. Conduct the certification assessment in his/her own area
9. Prepare the certification assessment report as assigned
10. Timely submission of content and quiz for online training module development
11. Serve as a focal point for coordination with CBO partners and stakeholders to ensure smooth operation of programs, training and marketing activities
12. Present and promote training content and materials as assigned
13. Prepare report and success story as assigned
14. Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience
1. Thai citizen only
2. Master’s degree in public health, social sciences, or related field, with bachelor’s degree in nursing or health related field
3. 3-5 years of experience in working with NGO on health or development programs with CBOs
4. Experience in designing, implementing and evaluating training activities and programs
5. Experience in facilitating training on HIV clinical prevention to care services is an advantage.
6. At least 3 years of experiences in providing technical assistance on HIV-related services
7. Strong knowledge in designing, implementing and evaluating training activities on HIV/AIDS areas
8. Strong knowledge in training curriculum design and training manual development
