Casio Launch Collaboration with the Ministry of Education of Thailand for Use of Scientific Calculators

Casio Marketing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding on February 25, 2022 with the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC) of the Thai Ministry of Education and the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST) covering collaboration on the use of scientific calculators for education in Thailand.

Casio conducts education activities to promote the use of scientific calculators in the field of education worldwide. With the aim of improving education gaps, Casio is working with local educators such as Thailand and Indonesia to develop inquiry-based classes in which students in upper secondary education, equivalent to high school in Japan, can learn independently using scientific calculators.

Job Description

To manage and take initiative for the following education (GAKUHAN) activities:

• Support EDU-port Project (pilot project) with Local Manager and Senior Executives

• *EDU-port Project: Mandatory / Recommended usage of Scientific Calculator in the classrooms at secondary school and national university entrance examination

• Support and follow up other education activities with Local Manager and Senior Executives

• Build relationships with education-related government agencies (such as OBEC, IPST, SESA) and teachers

• Support teachers' queries on our project and scientific calculator

• Support and conduct teacher/ student workshops, training, events, math competitions, etc.

• Prepare and submit official letters to OBEC/ SESA/ schools for education activities

• Cooperate with distributors to create product leaflets for schools/ students

• Translate information from Casio HQ and Singapore regional HQ
   

4 Focus Areas: Bangkok, Khon Kaen, Ubon Ratchatani, Chon Buri

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree holder in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or related disciplines

• Math Teachers (public/ private lessons) are welcome to apply

• Familiar with the usage of scientific calculator

• Good communication and teaching skills

• Able to work both independently and as a strong team player

• Willing to travel on business trips to up-country in Thailand (~2-3 times a month)
