WHO ARE WE?
Kenan Foundation Asia, a regional non-profit development organization based in Bangkok, Thailand, working in partnership with companies, governments, academia, and committed individuals to empower people with the knowledge, technology, and skills necessary for a better future.
Kenan Foundation Asia (Kenan) is implementing the USAID-funded Chumchon Harapan Activity in Thailand’s Deep South region. Kenan is seeking applications for a Deputy Chief of Party to lead the project’s implementation, and will be based in Pattani.
DESCRIPTION OF THE USAID CHUMCHON HARAPAN ACTIVITY
The USAID Chumchon Harapan Activity (Chumchon Harapan) works to empower youth leaders to become community connectors across Thailand’s Deep South, with the aim of strengthening social cohesion and transferring ownership of community harmony to local institutions, leading to lasting peace in the communities. Through youth-led activities, the project brings together community members and key stakeholders, while also formalizing, strengthening, and sustaining the USAID Chumchon Harapan networks.
The project is focused on developing sustainable linkages by: 1) expanding the role of the project’s university network by integrating the Chumchon Harapan model into the university’s course subject; 2) increasing the role of schools to promote youth-led people-to-people community engagement by integrating the Chumchon Harapan model into the school curriculum; 3) expanding the identity and contribution of the youth alumni network in peacebuilding through a ‘peacemaker lab’.
POSITION DESCRIPTION/SUMMARY: The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) will be responsible for managing the project team to implement on-the-ground program activities in project operating areas (Narathiwat, Pattani and Yala), including community outreach, training, peacemaker lab youth camps, whilst leading on stakeholder and beneficiary engagement, and other activities as required to achieve project deliverables and expected results. In addition, the DCOP will support the Chief of Party (COP) on monitoring and evaluation activities to make sure progress and achievements are timely and properly monitored and reported. This position will be based in Pattani and will report to the COP.
