The Shoklo Malaria Research Unit (SMRU) is a field station of the faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand, and is part of the Mahidol-Oxford Research Unit (MORU) supported by the Wellcome Trust, UK. The main objective of SMRU is to provide quality health care to the marginalised populations living on both sides of the Thai-Myanmar border in the Mae Sot area, Tak province. This is achieved by the dual activities of research and humanitarian services, with an emphasis on maternal-child health and infectious diseases.

Job title:             Human Resource Junior assistant

Location:            Mae Sot (and will move to Mae Ra Mat by the end of the year)

Probation:         SMRU can terminate employment at 3 months if performance inadequate

Report to:          Human Resource Officer

Staff under supervision:  - 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare recruitment support documents.
  • Make interview schedule and prepare interview documents.
  • Collect and ensure recruitment’s document.
  • Prepare employment document (Contract, Social Security fund, PVD etc.) and staff personal file including collect and ensure all relate documents are correct and complete.
  • Register and resignation for Social Security fund.
  • Assist HR manager to prepare training’s documents.
  • Organize and issue work and salary certificate letter for staff.
  • Prepare payment document for staff.
  • Monitor staff attendance and give advice when necessary.
  • Prepare document and apply visa and work permit for staff local staff
  • Prepare document and register Social Security fund for staff.
  • Annual prepare and collect attendant logbook.
  • Prepare and collect appraisal paper.  
  • Assist staff to coordination as requested (request TAX number, open bank account etc.)

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration or related field

 Experience: 

  • one or more years of progressively responsible support work experience in general administrative work. 
  • Good understanding of border context and multicultural works environment

Knowledge and Skills:  

  • Knowledge of general HR administrative work practices. 
  • Good communication skills and basic understanding of HR principles
  • Good knowledge in labor law, immigration law and legal concern
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)

Language:

  • Fluency in in Thai, English and Karen and/or Burmese
