The social media & PR officer will use social media and other communication channels to build, maintain and manage the image of our organization. They will work to gain public understanding and support through communication campaigns.
They will be in charge of the organization’s interactions with the public, and will represent the organization during events as needed.
Background:
The Paintbrush Foundation is a non-profit organization born out of a passion to create positive social change through arts education. Our foundation teaches music and arts for free to the underprivileged children of the Khlong Toey slum community.
There is no current social media manager or PR officer working at the foundation. We are thus creating this new position in order to improve our communication strategy, with an emphasis on social media strategy, and increase our online presence and our visibility in general.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement social media communication strategies while maintaining the organization’s image and identity (Facebook, Instagram, LInkedIn)
- Engage with followers and reply to inquiries on social media pages
- Manage and update information on social media and website
- Design or supervise the production of visual communications and digital content.
- Write and update the organization’s communication material, such as brochures, flyers, presentations, potentially newsletters
- Write and distribute press releases to targeted media when needed
- Responds to requests for information from the public and the press
- Pitch story ideas and content to media
- Seek opportunities for marketing the organization through partnerships and advertising.
- Measuring PR program impact and regular reporting
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field
- 3-4 years of experience in public relations, social media management or similar role
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both in Thai and English
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to think both creatively and strategically
- Ability to take initiative
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with digital media skills, such as graphic design, video/photo editing
Working hours/location:
- Tue-Fri, 15.30-19.00 (+1h a week for event participation, details to be discussed)
