Program Finance Coordinator, Southeast Asia Program

 

Location:                   Thailand

Status:                       Full-time, 18-month fixed contract, with possible extension                 

Applications by:        6 December 2022

Start Date:                 February 2023

Salary Range:            40,000 to 60,000 THB/month

International Rivers is recruiting a Program Finance Coordinator for the Southeast Asia Program based in Thailand. The Program Finance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the program’s accounting, finances, budgeting and reporting process aligned with International Rivers’ and donors’ policies and requirements. The successful candidate will also provide capacity-building to partners on financial management and reports. The role requires close coordination with International Rivers’ Southeast Asia Program Director and staff and the Acting Head of Finance and finance team    

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Southeast Asia (SEA) Program Financial management and coordination

  • Complete monthly reconciliation of accounts: cash receipts, journal vouchers, account payable, cash disbursement
  • Prepare timely SEA payroll preparation and maintenance by electronic transfer for approval by SEA Program Director/Acting Finance Director    
  • Track and manage documentation of staff expenses and reimbursements, and compile monthly accounting reports
  • Monitor and review program and partner budgets
  • Assist the Acting Finance Director/SEA Program Director in financial reporting, including     preparing project/program and grant reports as required by the SEA Program Director to ensure effective and timely management of fund expenses and activities.
  • Ensure implementation and compliance with International Rivers’ financial policies and procedures and funders’ requirements
  • Facilitate and provide financial capacity-building of SEA program staff and partners to ensure staff and partners understand and comply with International Rivers’ and donors’ requirements.
  • Work with Acting Finance Director and SEA Program Director to prepare annual and grant budgets and monitor progress towards financial objectives
  • Work with Acting Finance Director and SEA Program Director to complete audits
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

 

Skills and Experience Required:

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience 
  • Understanding of Thailand's tax laws and Thai Financial Reporting Standards (TFRS)  
  • At least five years experience working in a program finance role, preferably with a non-profit organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to produce financial reports and budgets
  • Interest in environmental integrity, social justice and the mission of International Rivers
  • Strong spoken and written English skills; fluent in Thai
  • Advanced Excel skills;
  • Experience using accounting software
  • Strong time management and organizational skills

 

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with a Thai foundation and demonstrated understanding of financial requirements of Thai foundations
  • Experience with MIP fund accounting
  • Demonstrated experience in providing financial capacity-building for staff and partners
