Malteser International is a German non-governmental organization providing humanitarian assistance and development aid for people in need in over 20 countries. Malteser International is currently working with temporary refugee shelters and surrounding villages in Sob-Moei district, Mae Hong Son province in Thailand. Our office located in Mae Sariang is looking for an efficient, motivated and experienced Thai national for the position as Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Assistant.
Duty Station: Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province
Work locations: Mae Sariang and Sob-Moei Districts within the field
Duration: Until 14 July 2024 (with possibilities to extend)
Salary range: 20,000 THB (+benefits)
Main Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist MEAL Officer to establish accountability mechanism (Feedback and response Mechanism-FRM) for MI services and performances in target locations by using different measures to collect information ranging from surveys, individual interviews, and group discussions.
- Collect and gather feedback and register to the FRM system (FRM Tracking sheet).
- Record lesson learned together with MEAL Officer during implementation of activities/services to discuss with program team to facilitate learning and adjustment of activities and approaches.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining the database that covers project data and progress indicators.
- Design and apply questionnaire templates by using data collection applications (KoBoToolbox, mWater, similar).
- Assist MEAL Officer to conduct training
, and awareness raising to staffs and target communities regarding the accountability component.
- Contribute with inputs to MI website in form of articles about activities with an aim to raising awareness about MI Thailand activities and about the beneficiaries we work with
- Support the MEAL officer to monitor consistency and correctness of entries into MI database.
Essential Qualifications/Skills:
- University degree in field like Development Studies, Statistics, or degree with additional relevant training related to project management or other relevance to Monitoring and Evaluation.
- Minimum of 1 – 2 years of relevant experience with monitoring and evaluation of activities.
- 1 – 2 years of work within project context in (I)NGO setting.
- Specific training and expertise on database application (or advanced use of MS Access or Excel).
- Highly organized and meticulous in carrying out work with data.
- Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English and Sgaw Karen
- IT hardware and software knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
Starting date: As soon as possible.
