Position: Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Assistant
Location: Winrock International, Bangkok, Thailand
Reports to: MEL Specialist
Duration: One year with possibility of renewal subject to funding availability
Closing Date: September 7, 2023 11.59 hrs. Bangkok time
Position Summary
We are looking to fill the role of the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research Assistant. This person will work closely with the MEL Specialist and MEL Adviser to support the monitoring, evaluation, and research of the USAID Asia Counter Trafficking in Persons (CTIP) project. The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated person who can ensure high-quality outputs are being delivered.
It is a dynamic job with varying responsibilities that requires someone willing to work closely with and learn from a diverse international team.
Essential Responsibilities
Monitoring & Evaluation (40%)
- Under the supervision of the MEL Specialist and MEL Adviser, collect data for and calculate quarterly and annual indicators
- Communicate regularly with project partners to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Analyze data for quarterly report
- Maintain M&E database
- Ensure data quality and security
Research and dissemination (40%)
- Provide support to MEL Specialist and MEL Adviser in building and maintaining partnerships with universities, thinktanks and other research/MEL organizations. Tasks would include finalizing contracts, reviewing terms of reference, etc.
- Support dissemination of research outputs liaising closely with communications team
- Support evidence uptake of research outputs by creating short briefs, videos etc..
- Support editing deliverables and providing technical input on drafts where possible
- Assisting in organizing technical exchanges and capacity building sessions when relevant
Admin (20%)
- Organize and technically facilitate meetings with partners and research participants as needed
- Help keep projects on track by following deliverables, payments, and contracts
- Provide any other coordination support to the team as needed
Qualifications
Education:
- Master’s level degree is preferred in international development, statistics, political science, or a relevant social science discipline (A bachelor’s level degree will be accepted with additional 2 years of experience).
Technical:
- Applicants should have 2 to 4 years’ experience working in the areas of monitoring and evaluation and/or research in the fields of antitrafficking or other relevant areas (however, demonstration of an ability and eagerness to learn quickly and take on the tasks of the role may be considered in lieu of experience).
Experience:
- Experience implementing or overseeing monitoring and evaluation systems
- Record working in an international setting
- Demonstrated administrative skills in complex, multiactivity programming
Skills/Knowledge:
Required
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and creative problemsolving skills
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Experience preparing communications materials
- Good presentation skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint)
- Fluent English language skills (writing, speaking, understanding)
Desired
- Knowledge on human trafficking, migration, or relevant development issues in the Asia region
- Fluent in an Asian language
- Data visualization skills
- Video editing skills
- Some experience in statistical analysis software such as SPSS, STATA, SASS, or R
