Community Partners International (CPI) is a U.S. nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities in Asia to meet their essential health, humanitarian and development needs. Founded by U.S. doctors in 1998, the organization has grown to serve more than one million people each year. Community Partners International focuses on helping communities affected by conflict, violence, and displacement, in remote and hard-to-reach contexts, and marginalized by poverty and exclusion.
CPI is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Communications Manager for a 5-year program. The Communications Manager will work closely with CPI’s consortium partners and local implementing partners (ethnic service providers and CSOs) to identify, document, and share key achievements and learning opportunities. The Communications Manager will contribute to the production of content for the learning platform, online and social
media platforms, presentations/briefings for project stakeholders, and donor reports. The Communications Manager will also support the Senior Communications Manager with activities to build the communications and outreach capacity of local CSOs and ethnic service
providers. This position reports to the Senior Communications Manager.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of the project’s approved Branding and Marking Plan as well as the project’s communications and outreach strategy, under the supervision of the Senior Communications Manager
- Support in compiling and preparing inputs for the project’s weekly summaries and bi-weekly political/contextual analyses
- Produce data visualizations and infographics, videos, and other communication products related to project activities
- Lead in developing approaches and materials to promote the project’s online learning platform (Moodle) and its upcoming courses, with content and activities to attract and reach targeted audiences
- Coordinate with the project team to ensure that learning resources are accurate, culturally sensitive, and consistent with the project objectives
- Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent messaging and alignment across the project by facilitating clear and transparent communication guidelines
- Lead in creating team building exercises and good practices to enhance communication and understanding among team members and foster a sense of shared purpose and vision among the project team
- Provide communications support to the project team, including editing, formatting, and re-packaging of technical information for appropriate communication to different audiences
- Support the Senior Communications Manager in routine check-ins with the project’s consortium members and implementing partners to proactively identify, document, and share key accomplishments, learning opportunities, and findings of project activities to highlight to the donor
- Analyze PSA campaign metrics to assess the impact of the project’s communication efforts
- Any other tasks assigned by the Senior Communications Manager (supervisor)
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in mass communications, journalism, or other related field, and minimum of 5 years of experience working on strategic communications activities related to social or political concerns
- Demonstrated proficiency with development of communications materials (reports, social media campaigns, etc.)
- Experience working with institutional donor-funded projects and familiarity with clearance and approval processes
- Experience building relationships and communicating with a broad range of stakeholders including donors, international and local NGOs, CSOs, and ethnic service providers
- Experience developing communication materials using programs like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Piktochart, Prezi, etc.
- Experience developing and maintaining social media tools (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
- Experience tailoring messaging to different audiences
- Strong understanding of development and humanitarian trends and issues
- High proficiency in written and spoken English
- Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to work in a multicultural and multidisciplinary work environment
- Highly motivated, able to work well under pressure, and independent
- Flexibility and willingness to travel in project areas
- Good team player
Preferred Skills
- Master’s degree (or 5 years of relevant experience) in a relevant field
- Prior experience working with ethnic service providers and CSOs in southeast Myanmar
