ABOUT RURALITY PROGRAM
Rurality is a global Earthworm program launched in 2015 to drive transformation and innovation at the farmer level. Our mission is to empower farmers to create, tap into and own the mechanisms that will strengthen their resilience and improve their livelihoods. We are working in 11 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America, with 17 activities projects spanning 6 commodities.
In Thailand, our Rurality Project has strengthened over 1000 rubber farmers’ resilience. We have also initiated diversification activities, focusing on food crops, livestock and fisheries. So far, farmers have also embarked on new and value addition farming activities.
This position will be responsible for technical support to farmers and the Field Team to enhance capacity that leads to better awareness and behavior change among rubber farmers in project areas. Ensuring high quality and timely inputs particularly to introduction and application of agroforestry farming, ecosystem function and restoration, to support the Agricultural Extension team and management to maintain the strategic vision of the Project and that its activities result in the achievement of its intended impact in a cost effective and timely manner. Providing support to the Project to lead smallholder capacity building activities and targeted interventions on agroforestry, ecosystem restoration, market-based livelihood opportunities and/or gender inclusion.
YOUR ROLE
Being the Manager Regenerative Agricultural Practices for the Rurality program, your day will be primarily focused on:
Based in Surat Thani Province, you will work alongside with an existing Earthworm Foundation's team, working collaboratively with farmers and other local partners to create value and improve smallholder resilience to fluctuations in climate and markets.
YOUR PROFILE
A change maker with good understanding of agricultural commodity supply chains and great motivation in achieving no deforestation and no exploitation goals. You will regularly report directly to the Deputy Team Leader.
With excellent communication and writing skills, strong people leadership and cross-team collaborative skills, you are passionate in the sustainability sector, and interested in a career with a dynamic non-profit that builds relationships with companies, governments and civil society organizations to bring responsible products to market.
