Malteser International is a German non-governmental organization providing humanitarian assistance and development aid for people in need in over 20 countries. Malteser International is currently working with temporary refugee shelters and surrounding villages in Sob-Moei district, Mae Hong Son province in Thailand. Our office located in Mae Sariang is looking for an efficient, motivated and experienced Thai national for the position as Clinical Supervisor.

Duty Station:             Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province

Work locations:         Field locations in Mae Sariang and Sob-Moei Districts

Duration:                   31 July 2024 (with possible extension)

Salary range:             50,000 THB (+benefits)

Main Responsibilities and Duties

1. Spend time in TSAs (Temporary Safety Areas) to ensure the quality of curative health care services.
2. Provide necessary intervention and clinical consultations for severe, life threatening and complicated cases, including pregnancy complications.
3. Confirm and justify need for secondary and tertiary health care patient referrals to Thai hospitals, including follow-up of the referral process at Thai hospitals.
4. Lead clinical team and strengthen staffs’ knowledge and skills in the management of patients using proper interpretation of lab and test results.
5. Take an active role in outbreak responses and infection control related to relevant health facilities.
6. Review and validate reports before submission to ensure accurate clinical statistics and disease situation in the TSAs.
7. Carry out regular refresher training and support training components for clinic staff with specific inputs as discussed with a medical team.
8. Assist logistic team and HIS/Pharmacy Supervisor on a technical level in the process to procure appropriate medical equipment, medicines, and medical consumables.
9. Prepare monthly report and activity plan as well as regularly update patients database and submit to Project Coordinator.
10. Coordinate with health posts and District Public Health Office to ensure clinical processes run smoothly.

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

1. Medical Doctor degree with proven registration in home country, registration in Thailand considered an advantage.
2. 2-3 years of experience attending and treating patients in a clinic or hospital setting, preferably with clinical experience in remote areas/ rural settings.
3. Experience in supervisory position in a humanitarian setting
4. Previous experience in Thai-Myanmar refugee shelters considered an advantage.
5. Specialization in any of the fields of pediatrics, OB/Gyn, or infectious diseases, considered an advantage
6. Proven teaching, training, and supervising skills
7. Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English and Burmese, in addition good command of Karen language is considered an advantage.
8. Good interpersonal and communication skill, known as a good team player.
9. Willingness to travel to remote areas and work at flexible hours.
