Logistics Supervisor – Based in Maehongson
DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS THAILAND (DWBT)
Background
Doctors without Borders (Thailand) Co. Ltd, is working with national and international partner organizations in the field of healthcare related support activities in Mae Hong Son province as well as the Southern provinces of Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat and Songkhla since 2017. The projects in the North and South of Thailand employ about 50 Thai staff.
Main Purposes
Supervising the daily logistics activities in collaboration with the Technical Activity Manager and providing maintenance to the DWBT owned and supported facilities and infrastructures and equipment according to DWBT standards and protocols in order to maintain the facilities in perfect conditions in the development of the mission.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist Logistics Manager / Technical Logistics Manager in the definition and follow up logistic activities in the project, in conjunction with medical team in order to identify and give a response to the needs of the beneficiaries in terms of construction transportation, communication, food, shelter, water and sanitation, and non-foods item.
- Day to day monitoring basis the implementation of logistic / technical activities in the project (construction, transport, communication, water and sanitation, vehicles and engines, equipment’s /installation and infrastructure etc) ensuring DWBT standards protocol and procedures are implemented and reported to Logistics Manager / Technical Logistics Manager on the development ongoing programs:
- Ensure good functioning of vehicles fleet and other engines.
- Implement of construction and water and sanitation activities planned.
- Organize transport of goods and staff.
- Implement and administrative related activities linking to logistic (order, insurances, vehicles contract etc)
- Ensuring the vehicle fleet maintenance includes planning and overseeing timely preventive and curative maintenance of all project vehicles according to DWBT standards and instructing and monitoring drivers on correct driving habits and standard checks.
- Participate in the planning together with Logistics Manager / Technical Logistics Manager the project implementation.
- Ensure technical reference for all logistic / technical issue in the project and provide coaching to logistic staff under him/her responsibility.
- Ensure efficient physical (warehousing) and administrative (management of movements) stock management and the other supply related.
Context Specific Responsibilities
- Making suggestions regarding any repair or maintenance work needed in DWBT electrical installations, equipment and/or vehicles and assisting logistics department for any relative work needed.
- Responsible for the logistic equipment and tools, including fire extinguishers, checking they are correctly and safely used, maintaining, and renewing them when necessary and keeping the inventory updated.
- Carrying out tasks directly related to the Watson activities such as construction and maintenance of infrastructures in the project according to DWBT protocols and standards concerning the operation of water supply, waste management and excreta disposal, hygiene, and infection control.
- Ensuring that all record sheets and books related to logistical maintenance are always completed. Preparing needed reports before and after any repair or required maintenance.
- Immediately informing the line manager of any problems that arise in the course of the work, particularly with regard to damage, loss, theft or attempted break-ins
- Making suggestions regarding any repair or maintenance work needed in DWBT electrical installations and equipment and assisting logistics department with any urgent support/advice or any relative work needed.
- Ensuring all electrical installations in DWBT facilities comply with DWBT standards and performing autonomously and ensuring, all necessary complex / advanced electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs, according to the supervisor’s instructions in coordination with Technical Activity Manager.
- Identifying local specialized technician (Electrician, Watson Technician, Biomed Technician), and organizing their participation in the project.
- Managing a small team of workers (Daily Workers, Incentivized Staff), ensuring security measures on worksite including opening and closing.
Requirement

Education:
|
- Essential secondary education and formal technical training
|

Experience:
|
- At least one year experience with DWBT or two years experience in a similar post out of DWBT
|

Languages:
|
- Fluent of English is required; understand of local language.

HR & Benefits:
- Salary: 31,838 THB gross per month, and 13th month salary
- One-year fixed term contract renewable, with 3 month-probation periods.
