Thailand One Health University Network- National Coordinating Office is looking for staff, who have high motivation and collaborative mind to be a part of human capacity development for multisectoral coordination and response to infectious disease outbreak

THOHUN BACKGROUND

Since 2012, Thailand One Health University Network or THOHUN has responsibility on pre-service training both future and current workforce to early prevent and protect emerging/ re-emerging diseases in Thailand by integration of collaboration across sectors with respect to One Health approach. The One Health approach is particularly relevant regarding the control of zoonoses, rabies risk communication and combatting antibiotic resistance. To effectively respond to, and prevent outbreaks of zoonoses, epidemiological data and laboratory information should be shared across sectors.

According to strengthen workforce potential, One Health core competencies (OHCCs) were developed for the current workforce based on the Memorandum of Understanding on the Implementation of One Health Initiative for National Health Security which is an agreement of 7 Thai ministries (Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Public Health) and Thai Red Cross. For preparedness to outbreaks prevention, OHCCs

were improved and adjusted that suitable for the future workforce who will be a future operational person in the public health sector both in private and government.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Networking & Communication Officer will be responsible for the communications, reporting, and network integration into the larger SEAOHUN University Network under supervision of THOHUN Coordinator. This position requires a good general knowledge and application of the policies and procedures, as well as rules and regulations, of network communication management. The main tasks include:

• Participate in communication with prime to plan for global activity implementation.
• Create activity, monthly, and quarterly reports in collaboration with other NCO staff
• Manage domestic outreach and communication initiatives on behalf of THOHUN
• Coordinate internal and external communications between network universities
• Reviewing and consolidating country work plans, monitoring work plan implementation, facilitating technical assistance and program revisions when requested, and supporting the reporting process
• Carry out other THOHUN-related work as required by the Employer

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelors or Master’s degree from a recognized college or university.
• Two-year of experience providing technical support to government agencies, intergovernmental agencies, academic universities, or NGOs is required. Working experience at an international organization is preferred.
• Excellent relationship management, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with proven ability to liaise, consult and negotiate with a wide range of multi-disciplinary stakeholders, including external agencies and service providers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven effective communication skills in English, both written and oral.
• Skills in Microsoft Office/Google, email, and Internet navigation are required.
• Willingness to undertake regional travels
