Information Technology (IT) Officer – Chiang Mai, Thailand

The Opportunity

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) requires implementing partner support to establish and manage the Community Resilience Program (CRP). This program is based in Chiang Mai, Thailand to support activities that will sustain and strengthen community resilience in the region.

This is a full-time position based in Chiang Mai.

About the Role

CRP seeks an ICT Officer to play a key role in coordinating and operationally managing ICT services for the CRP programme in the region. This role will ensure the smooth operation of systems and network in a highly secure manner and provide end user support.

Individual tasks will vary depending on the needs of the organization which will include:

• Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks and Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications;
• Talking staff through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues;
• Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults;
• Replacing computer parts as required;
• Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports;
• Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system;
• Supporting the roll-out of new software/applications;
• Setting up new users’ accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues;
• Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment.

Required Qualifications:

• Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field from a recognized College or University. Relevant IT Related Certifications will be added advantage.
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience
• Install and Maintain Local Area Network and Wide Area Networks and Virtual Private Networks with Knowledge of configuring and managing Logical and Physical Networks.
• Must rapidly establish a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, such as software developers;
• Preferred skills in database management
• End-user Support
• Server Administration
• Network and Hardware Maintenance
• Previous experience with a multilateral or international organization
• Ability to travel within the region
• Verbal fluency in Burmese
• Verbal fluency in Thai
• Verbal fluency in English
