Finance Assistant– Chiang Mai, Thailand

 

The Opportunity

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) requires implementing partner support to establish and manage the Community Resilience Program (CRP).This program is based in Chiang Mai, Thailand to support activities that will sustain and strengthen community resilience in the region.

This is a full-time position based in Chiang Mai.

 

About the Role

The Finance and Accounting Assistant provide administrative support to the Finance and Accounting Officer by performing various clerical tasks, such as data entry, filing, mail handling, making bank deposits and keeping bank records, handling invoices, tracking expenses for specific projects, and bookkeeping.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain soft and hard copies of finance and accounting files
  • Prepare payment vouchers, cash receipts vouchers and journal vouchers according to Crown Agents’ policies and procedures as well as local government rules and regulations
  • Prepare monthly payroll, social security, and staff income tax and all other regular monthly payments
  • Follow up and send reminders to employees regarding outstanding travel advances
  • Receive and track all invoices and expense reports and identify/flag any discrepancies
  • Maintain a database of vouchers, bank payment instructions and purchase orders
  • Prepare bank deposits and maintain bank records
  • Provide general administrative support such as scheduling meetings, drafting meeting minutes, drafting and tracking memos, ensuring that action items are followed up, filing, correspondence control, and other administrative services
  • Perform other tasks as requested.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, accounting, or related field preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • One (2) to three (3) years hands on accounting experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously under pressure in a stressful environment and with colleagues from different cultural and professional backgrounds
  • Good written and spoken English and Thai strongly preferred.
