Finance Officer– Chiang Mai, Thailand

 

The Opportunity

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) requires implementing partner support to establish and manage the Community Resilience Program (CRP).This program is based in Chiang Mai, Thailand to support activities that will sustain and strengthen community resilience in the region.

This is a full-time position based in Chiang Mai.

 

About the Role

Crown Agents is seeking a Finance and Accounting Officer responsible for the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the project in Thailand. This position reports to the Finance and Accounting Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight to the Finance and Accounting Assistants;
  • Manage all cash transactions, including issuing, tracking, and clearing operational and travel advances; · Manage office cash flow and timely replenishment of cash accounts;
  • Post/record payments, journal entries, advances, and other transactions to the accounting system after ensuring the payment is correct and has all the relevant back-up documentation;
  • Review monthly payroll, social security, and staff income tax and all other regular monthly payments;
  • Manage the accounts receivable and accounts payable accounts to ensure that all advances are liquidated, and payments are made in a timely manner respectively;
  • Support the Finance and Accounting Manager financial aspects of grants management including review and audit grantee financial reports ensuing compliance with grant agreement requirements;
  • Prepare and submit monthly and/or quarterly fund requests;
  • Prepare monthly financial reports;
  • Perform other tasks as requested.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, accounting, or related field;
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience working in project financial management with strong knowledge of international donor requirements;
  • Familiarity with financial components of grants management and project finance strongly preferred;
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously under pressure in a stressful environment and with colleagues from different cultural and professional backgrounds;
  • Good written and spoken English and Thai.
