ADRA is a global network of independent humanitarian organizations established in 1984 by the Seventh Day Adventist Church for the specific purpose of providing individual and community development and disaster relief. ADRA Thailand works with people in poverty and distress to create just and positive change through empowering partnerships and responsible action. ADRA Thailand has served vulnerable and marginalized people in Thailand through community development initiatives targeting Basic and Vocational Education, Statelessness Reduction, Migrant Rights Advocacy, Child Protection. ADRA Thailand’s emergency response initiatives provide aid to disaster survivors and people fleeing active conflict from Myanmar.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Field Coordinator is responsible for project activities according to the logframe and work plan in consultation with associate project partners (Thai labour authority, Federation of Thai Industries, and others).  To ensure project goal is met and effective flow of information between the beneficiaries (migrant workers), local stakeholders (factory owners/managers) and the Project Manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Working with People (2.1)

  1. To assist the Project Manager to implement capacity building activities for partnering CBOs; (2.1)

 

Relating and Networking (3.1)

  1. To help ensure a good flow of information between the beneficiaries, local stakeholders and the Project Manager; (3.1)
  2. To coordinate with associate partners to ensure smooth and effective implementation of activities related to target factories; (3.1)
  3. Organize regular coordination meetings on safety with local partners to provide input for the trainings planned for target factories; (3.1)
  4. Prepare official letters for project partners in Thai; (3.1)
  5. Collaboration with project team members and project partners to collect necessary data; (3.1)
  6. Provide assistance to external evaluators to conduct project mid-term evaluation and final evaluation; (3.1)

 

Writing and Reporting (4.1)

  1. Write event reports with good quality after major project events and share with the Project Manager;  (4.1)
  2.  Provide quality and timely activity progress reports to the Project

               Manager; (4.1)

  1. Be able to use existing monitoring tools or design new tools to collect qualitative and quantitative data for project activities based on the project logframe; (4.1)
  2. Be responsible for compiling data according to the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) plans; (4.1)
  3. Be able to obtain baseline and progressive data from partners as required by the logframe; (4.1)
  4. Be able to report monitoring and evaluation data in the internal project committee meetings; (4.1)
  5. Assist Project Manager in preparing quarterly and annual narrative reports; (4.1)

 

Planning and organizing (6.1)

      15.  Participate and contribute to the weekly staff meeting using appropriate

       management tools; (6.1)        

      16. To ensure proper implementation of project activities according to the

             logframe and work plan and in consultation with project partners; (6.1)

      17. To coordinate with partners, consultants and resource persons for 

            workshops and meetings; (6.1)

      18. Other tasks required by the Project Manager; (6.1)

Measurability

  • Outputs achieved as planned
  • Tasks and responsibilities carried out according to agreed work plans
  • High quality reports produced and submitted to Project Manager
  • Ensure activity funds are spent in line with the budget
  • ADRA Thailand policies followed

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Skills & Education Required:

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

Experience:

  • Significant experience in working with migrant workers, local CSOs, and advocacy (at least 2-3 years).

Language Skills:

  • Fluent in English and Thai (written and oral)
  • Fluent in spoken Burmese is a plus

Skills and Abilities:

  • Significant experience in working with migrant communities
  • Sound computer skills in word, excel, and power point
  • Ability to work under pressure and to cope with multi-tasking
  • Ability to interact in a sensitive and diplomatic way
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural setting
  • Transparent, organized and responsible work style
  • Team spirit
