YOUR MISSION

Baan Dek Foundation is currently looking for a copywriter intern who will contribute to BDF’s overall mission and provide specialized support for workers and their families who reside in construction camps. You will work under the direct supervision of the Communication and Social Media Manager and will play an essential role in the success of the systemic impact of Baan Dek Foundation by supporting the Building Social Impact Initiative project. 
 

Job Description:

Job Title: Copywriter Intern

Type of Contract: Internship  (Minimum 3 Months)

Department: Communication

Location: Remote

Expected Start Date: ASAP

Key responsibilities of the Copywriter position will entail but are not limited to the following:

• Content Creation: Write, edit, and proofread various types of content, including blog posts, social media updates, press releases, and website content, with a focus on privacy, online security, and human rights topics.

• Research: Conduct research on online privacy, and relevant news to ensure that content is accurate and up-to-date.

• Social Media Management: Assist in managing the NGO's social media accounts by creating engaging content and staying up-to-date with online privacy and human rights discussions.

• Collaboration: Work closely with the communications team to align messaging and ensure that all content adheres to the NGO's brand and goals.

• Advocacy Support: Help in crafting materials that support the NGO's advocacy efforts, including letters, petitions, and educational resources.

Working hours: Full-time (3-4 days per week)

Salary & Compensation: 

This is an unpaid internship; however, Baan Dek Foundation is happy to provide college credit if applicable and support your professional development.

YOUR PROFILE

QUALIFICATIONS

Nationality: Thai nationality 

Language requirements: Excellent command of written and spoken Thai and English; other languages are considered a plus. 

Education/ Experience:  

●       Studies: Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field

●       Working knowledge and skills: Relevant experience in writing and content creation is a plus. Candidates with a portfolio of writing samples or a personal blog are encouraged to share their work.

●       Professional experience Previous copywriting, content creation, or journalism experience is a plus.

Other skills and competencies:

• Familiarity with digital marketing, SEO, and social media.

• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, including experience working in a cross-cultural and international environment.

• Creativity and the ability to tell compelling stories.

• Proficiency in Thai grammar, punctuation, and style.

• Able to work independently when needed and within a team

• Highly motivated, flexible and interested in NGOs

• Solution over problems mentality

Baan Dek Foundation (BDF) is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious organization based in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. BDF's core mission is to provide access to education, health, and social services to the most vulnerable children living in urban slums and construction site camps in Thailand. 
 
Over the last 10 years of grassroots work originating in Chiang Mai, Baan Dek Foundation established key partnerships with construction companies and real estate developers to build sustainable impact in construction site camps and improve the lives and access to basic services of construction workers and their children. 

Through the recent launch of the Building Social Impact initiative, BDF seeks to scale up and reach a wide adoption of this framework and tools in the construction sector.
