Major Functions:
As the country representative of a new regional WWF program, the Global Biodiversity Framework Program Manager will play a critical role in WWF’s goal to operationalize and advance Thailand’s 30x30 targets under Global Biodiversity Framework Target 3, focusing on effectively managed Protected and Conserved Areas, Other Effective Area-Based Conservation Measures, and implementation of National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plans. This program will emphasize enhanced governance and strengthened conservation efforts by local communities and faith-based actors' participation in area-based conservation.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of relevant strategies and annual work plans for the Country Office.
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, policymakers, NGOs, community groups, and other stakeholders to foster effective policy development and implementation.
- Represent WWF Thailand in various forums, conferences, and meetings to communicate policy positions and advocate for conservation priorities.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of policy briefs, position papers, reports, and presentations to influence policy decisions.
- Provide advice to Practice Leads and other Conservations team members and partners involved in policy and advocacy work.
- Work in close coordination with WWF Thailand’s Communications Director to ensure proactive communications and timely responses to situations as they arise.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree or equivalent work experience in environmental policy, environmental law, natural resources management or a related field.
- Thorough understanding of socio-economic, conservation and development issues in Thailand.
- In depth understanding of national and regional environmental, natural resources, and geopolitical governance.
- Proven track record of at least 5-7 years in policy development, advocacy, program management, or related roles within the field of conservation, including close engagement and advocacy with Government.

- Excellent communication, inter-personal and negotiation skills, both written and verbal;
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with government bodies, corporate sector, aid agencies, civil society, and NGOs
- Fluent oral and written communication skills in Thai and intermediate or greater skills in English;
- Proficiency in using advocacy tools and engaging with media;
