ABOUT THE TIJ

Building on Thailand’s engagement in the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ) was established in 2011 with the aim to promote excellence in research and capacity-building in the area of criminal justice. The institute serves as a bridge that transports global ideas to local practices. The primary objective is to promote the implementation of United Nations Rules for the Treatment of Women Prisoners and Non-custodial Measures for Women Offenders (the Bangkok Rules) as well as other United Nations standards and norms related to women and children in contact with the criminal justice system. As a member of the United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Programme Network Institute (UNPNI), TIJ also gears its work towards important cross-cutting issues on the United Nations agenda such as the rule of law, sustainable development, human rights, peace and security. At the same time, it works toward enhancing domestic justice system and the rule-based community within the ASEAN region.

ABOUT THE POSITION

A core belief that justice is everyone’s matter underlies TIJ missions, by INVESTING IN THE RULE OF LAW FOR A BETTER FUTURE, promoting a peaceful society and inclusiveness for sustainable development, providing access to justice for all and building effective institutions that is corresponding with the spirit of the UN-SDGs Goal 16 and 17. TIJ, together with the world-class institute like the Institute of Global Law and Policy at Harvard Law School, has launched the Rule of Law and Development Program (RoLD Program) since 2017 in Thailand in order to create a like-minded network of young leaders who would like to be part of this Rule of Law promotion journey. We are looking for an Project Assistant who matches this vision and excels in engaging people with good management and communication skills to help us drive the TIJ and its people to the next level of excellence along with the TIJ’s RoLD network. We look for someone with a strong passion for making our society a better place; who believes that a trusted network of the like-minded people will be our hope to make transformational changes happen in a justice system and strengthen the rule of law to create a fair and just society for all.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Coordinate related stakeholders to organize programs with a variety of activities that are attractive to engage young leaders into the programs. Work on logistics and contracts with outsources in order to meet effectiveness and efficiency targets.

2. Assist Project manager to coordinate with international and local partners to commit in the codesigned program on the Rule of Law and Development. Work on correspondence, draft speech for management, and be able to write an analytical report.

3. Support by providing quick research , data and content to facilitate the RoLD fellows to initiate ideas, design prototypes and implement them, under the project called “RoLD in action” in alignment with the organization’s mission.

4. Responsible for customer relations management system and update program that is able to engage and strengthen the relationships among the RoLD Fellows, and between the RoLD fellows and TIJ.

5. Gather feedback from participants, study other successful programs to adjust the program as necessary for the best practices and outcome to meet satisfaction.

6. Support team and create a good working and learning climate that enhance a professional capacity for each team member to unleash potentials for excellence.

7. Work on related areas with other TIJ units along with TIJ network to drive projects in action and implementation.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

Knowledge:

• Bachelor or Master degree in Management, CRM, Communication Management, Social Science,Psychology, Political Science, or other related disciplines deemed appropriate for the job.

Skills & Experiences:

• at least 1 year-working experience in training development or a customer relation management or other related areas.

• Good communication skills, and understanding of people and customer or network engagement.

• Understand standard human resources principles and practices.

• Fluency in both Thai and English.

• Proficiency in Microsoft office, presentation program such as power point.

• Multi-tasking person who works well under pressure.

• Possess interpersonal skills, proactive nature, highly organized and problem solver

• Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
