Type of Role : 1 Year Fixed-Term Contract

ROLE PURPOSE

Assisting Project Manager to plan, implement and monitor project activities in targeted areas, and support routine coordination with key stakeholders in local and national level. Also, provides effective back-office support for assigned administrative and communication tasks as well as occasional field support to Coordinator and consultant team with project beneficiaries and key stakeholders to meet the project’s goals, objectives and expectations as outlined in the project proposal, and in accordance with Plan International’s policies and procedures.

DIMENSIONS OF THE ROLE

The position is working with the Project Manager, for support the programme innovation and impact director Technical/Key Programme Leads and Learning and Evidence base Manager to achieve the following project goals which the high quality.

Accountabilities

Specific responsibilities and accountabilities include the following:

Planning

  • Assist PM in preparing detailed implementation plan (DIP) and overall project management documentations
  • Support preparation and revision of the project action plan, communication plan, and MER plan according to the new Program Quality Policy (PIQP).
  • Assist Project Manager and project consultant in planning and implementing assigned field activities to ensure the project’s ToC are integrate to project activity also cross-cutting issues such as gender equality, Child Protection into Project activities.

Management and Operation

  • Provide back-office supports for the project team. Coordinate logistic, administration, financial procedures to ensure smooth activity implementation.
  • Coordinator with consultant in administrative and coordination tasks and when conducting field activities.
  • Assist in preparing project’s progress report to ensure timely submission. Maintain project database to ensure documentation, records and filing of activities/meetings beneficiaries, project financial files and records are up-to-date.
  • Involve in facilitating project team meetings weekly, quarterly review meeting and project monitoring.
  • Work with other program team members to address other cross-cutting issues.

Communication and networking:

  • Initiate and maintain strong communication and dissemination of project key messages and deliverables among, project beneficiaries, and key stakeholders using face-to-face and online communication.
  • Engage in influencing meetings / events with government sector and non-government sectors.
  • Liaise and develop networks with IOs, NGOs and government agencies for the purposes of information exchange, strategic operations and networking as assigned.
  • Supports Advocacy and Influencing Technical Lead with knowledge products to support influencing, brand building & internal communications;
  • Supports development of external relation influencing strategy combining policy with local partners, advocacy, campaigning and communications.

Internal coordination and teamwork

  • Support teams to develops with Programme team, Technical Leads, Resource mobilization teams along with Finance and Operations teams, standard operating procedures (SOPs) for most efficient and effective development of concept notes, programme knowledge products and project proposals.
  • With Programme Systems & Learning Coordinator, conducts training and coaches’ staff and local implementing partners in using PMERL system data to align with procedures;

Others:

  • Ensure that Plan International’s Child Protection Policy and related procedures are adhered to in all aspects of work.
  • Perform relevant tasks as assigned by direct supervisors.

  • Close collaboration with project local implementing partners for successful delivery of project outcomes and capacity development;
  • Local implementing partners working with Plan International Thailand to support capacity building initiatives as needed informed through regular partner assessments;
  • Working with academic institutions, consultants for conducting baseline & endline, evaluations, and research;
  • Collaboration and information sharing with Key-Stakeholders.

Technical expertise, skills and knowledge

Essential

  • A degree in relevant social sciences, Development Studies, or related field.
  • Demonstrated 3-5 years or more of relevant professional experience; 
  • Proven track record of INGO/NGO of monitoring and evaluation and research in complex humanitarian settings and environment;
  • Solid understanding of topical issues and rights impacting children, especially girls, and youth in all of their diversity in Thailand;
  • Strong understanding of development and civil society sectors in Thailand;
  • Demonstrated skills in results-based monitoring, evaluation and research systems and approaches;
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, teamworking and networking skills;
  • Strong support and commitment to children’s rights, gender equality, and social inclusion
  • Practical working knowledge and use relevant software (MS Office) and other platforms for effective management of knowledge systems;
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written Thai / English;
  • Thai nationality.

Desirable

  • Demonstrated experience in working with children and youth
  • Experience in coordinating and liaising with government partners
  • Experience in managing Projects in child protection and gender area
  • Experience in working in a multi-cultural organisation
