Call for Applications (CFA)

CFA No. CFA-CSO-2024-001

 

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Thailand office and Human Right and Development Foundation (HRDF) are implementing a project entitled “Strengthening CSO Capacity and Network for Migrant Rights Protection”.  This project is a 24 month project funded by the European Union.  The specific objective of the project is (1) to increase private sector compliance of labour/human rights standards in and around Mae Sot District, Tak, Thailand; (2) to strengthen local CSOs’ effectiveness for the advancement of migrant workers’ labour/human rights.  

The project plans to engage one Civil Society Organization to implement various activities that contribute to the following outputs:

OP.2.1: Enhanced CSOs knowledge and skills for the effective advocacy in migrant rights. OP.2.2: Enhanced opportunities for dialogue and collaboration among duty bearers, CSOs, and private sector for the improvement of the protection of labour rights for migrant workers. 

ADRA now invite applications from CSOs/CBOs who meet the requirements of this Call. 

 

Types of entity eligible to receive sub-grants:

  • CSO/CBOs either registered or unregistered focused on health and hygiene promotion;
  •  Service delivery history and potential, organizations already providing support to migrant community;
  • CSO/CBOs have operational locations in and around Mae Sot area, Tak Province;
  • Financial management system and procedure in place to ensure transparency, accountability, and cost-effectiveness;
  • Assessment on the ability to return funds to ADRA if the partner fails to justify the cost with sufficient explanation and documentary evidence;
  • Openness to technical support and willingness to receive capacity building trainings from the project;
  • Has been an active member of the local Migrant Rights Promotion Working Group or/and Community Based Organizations Network; Or willing to be a member of these platforms after being selected;
  • Willingness to participate and support all project activities.

 

Criteria for CSO/CBO selection:

  • Submit applications before the deadline.
  • Convergence between the objectives of the project and that of the partner CSO and their experiences of carrying out proposed activities, will be an important factor in the selection of the CSO partner;
  • CSO/CBO that is able to prepare applications following the guidelines of the Call for Applications;
  • CSO/CBO that have managed sub-grants from other donors will be one of the factors for consideration but is not compulsory criteria – the CSO/CBO must have a sound financial management system in place;
  • Demonstrated a strong organizational and human resource capacity in carrying out the proposed activities.

Details on Targets and Proposed Activities:

Sub-granting Partner: Health and Hygiene Promotion

Number of Sub-granting Partner to be selected: 1

Sub-granting Amount: 30,000 EUR

Beneficiary Target: Provide health and hygiene promotion to 2,000 migrant workers (60% female) and basic safety equipment to 300 migrant workers.

 

Examples of activities: i) Organize outreach activities to educate migrant workers about the Occupational Safety and Hygiene (OSH) at the workplace, issues on labour rights, updated migrant registration policies and laws; ii) Train peer educators; iii) Development and translation of materials related to safety and hygiene; iv) Organize campaigns which related to migrant health and hygiene; v) Procurement and distribution of OSH basic safety equipment to selected migrant participants from community outreach sessions; vii) Additional activities can be designed as needed to address the new issues in the local context in consultation with ADRA.
