Organizational Setting and Work Relationships
The Finance Associate is normally supervised by a more senior finance colleague who defines general work objectives and provides necessary advice and guidance. The incumbent also refers to UNHCR Manuals and relevant policy papers on financial issues. The incumbent assists with the processing of financial transactions. S/he keeps frequent contact with staff at various levels in the office and with bank officials to exchange information. The incumbent may supervise some support staff.

Operational Context
The Finance Associate is supervised by the Senior Finance Officer, who defines general work objectives and provides necessary advice and guidance. The incumbent also refers to UNHCR financial management manual and relevant policy papers on financial issues. The incumbent works with the Assistant Finance Officer and admin staff on a regular basis with oversight from the supervisor. The incumbent assists with the processing of financial transactions for the regional bureau and outposted divisions and undertakes a support role for regional compliance functions and provides technical assistance to the countries in the region under the directions of the supervisor and finance team at the Bureau. S/he keeps frequent contact with staff at various levels in the Bureau and in the field operations as necessary, as well as external parties such as suppliers and bank officials on related financial management matters.
Desired Candidate Profile
• Experience of working with Cloud based financial management software (like Cloud ERP)
• Past experience of managing financial transactions and undertaking analysis role
• Advanced proficiency in excel spreadsheet management.

Knowledge and work experience of MSRP Finance applications. Good knowledge of UN/UNHCR Financial rules and procedures. Completion of UNHCR learning programmes or specific training relevant to the functions of the position.
