Malteser International is a German non-governmental organization providing humanitarian assistance and development aid for people in need in over 40 countries. Malteser International is currently working with temporary refugee shelters and surrounding villages in Sob-Moei district, Mae Hong Son province in Thailand. Our office located in Mae Sariang is looking for an efficient, motivated, and experienced Thai national for the position as Finance Officer (PRM Project).

Duty Station:             Mae Sariang town, Mae Hong Son province

Work locations:         Mae Sariang and Sob-Moei Districts within the field

Duration:                   31 July 2024 (with possible extension)

Salary range:             30,000 THB (+benefits)

Main Responsibilities and Duties

1. Ensure to follow MI financial policies/guidelines in all matters linked to the work chores.
2. Prepare petty cash bills and summary with and supportive documents.
3. Assist the Program Administrator in monthly cash request respective project budgets together with program unit, managers and coordinators and submit to HQ.
4. Assist the program with financial planning and project budgeting.
5. Review, confirm, and verify advance and procurement request processes based on budget availability.
6. Monitor project partners ’expenditures, vouchers, and financial documents as according to MI financial policies and guidelines.
7. Prepare and verify expenditure vouchers, correct calculations, and financial support documentation before submitting to PC for approval.
8. Report expenditures in timely into “Fundtrack Light” (MI online accounting system) in collaboration with Prog. Admin and Account Support   Unit for adjustment or correction.
9. Check and properly assign budget lines in vouchers, using correctly both donor budget lines and MI internal budget lines.
10. Ensure all documents for interim and financial reports for donors and auditors are made available, including necessary staff data, rental contracts, service contract etc.

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

1. Thai nationality
2. University degree in accounting or related field.
3. 3-5 years professional finance/accounting experience
4. Experience working in position in (I)NGO setting, working with temporary shelters is an asset
5. Fluency in both Thai and English is required, Sgaw Karean is considered as an asset.
6. Proficient with MS Office application, especially MS Words and Excel
7. Good interpersonal and communication skills
