Job Purpose

This position sits with the Grants Acquisition and Management (GAM) team, a team responsible for acquiring new grants and funding from national, bilateral and multilateral donors.

The primary purpose of this position is to support WVFT in acquiring grants and funding by strengthening WVFT’s donor-partner relations through strategic engagement in accordance to WVFT’s grants acquisition strategy. As such, the Specialist will play a key role in strengthening WVFT’s technical brand to be well recognized and understood by national, bilateral and multilateral donors, development partners, government, peer agencies and other technical audiences. He/She will work under the supervision of the Grants Acquisition Department Manager (GADM) and in close collaboration with the Branding and Communications team to develop technical branding material, including success stories, learning briefs, case studies, research and learning papers, and regular content for social media and other public platforms.  The specialist will be an adept coordinator, required to liaise with different department within WVFT to collect data, conduct research and analysis. As part of this role, He/She will also be expected to support the GADM with proposals and concept note development.

Responsibilities

Support to grants acquisition 40%

• Support the proposal development process, ensuring timely submission of competitive proposals, by working with teams of technical, field and management staff.
• Work with relevant departments to collect all necessary documents, including but not limited to: Teaming Agreements, Letters of Commitment, Financial Statements, Audit reports, CVs, and other documents and standardize these to the proposal guidelines.
• The successful candidate will use their knowledge of ‘results-based language’ and project logic to transform technical inputs and data into competitive proposals aligned to WVFT national strategy and donor guidelines.

External engagement with donors and partners 30%

• Support the development, regular update and implementation of the WVFT’s donor engagement plan.
• Support the organization in donor engagement, taking a lead on relationship management of potential and existing national, bilateral and multilateral donors.
• Conduct regular engagements disseminating technical branding material and knowledge products with donors as developed under the technical banding plan.

Technical branding 30%

• Support the development, regular update and implementation of the WVFT’s technical branding plan, including its presentation during monthly team meeting.
• Support in the development of technical fact sheets, capacity statements, concept notes and provide writing expertise according to WVFT’s technical branding plan.
• Work with relevant departments and project teams to collect – and disseminate to relevant donors – all necessary documents and information to develop and popularize technical branding products and knowledge material.
• Travel to project sides, in and outside Bangkok, to capture impactful information and data that can be turned into technical branding material.

Experience & Demonstrated capabilities

• Minimum of a bachelor's degree in social sciences, humanities or other relevant discipline, with proven writing and communication skills

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in the fundraising and/or grants acquisition and management in the international development sector

• Excellent knowledge of the international development field, fundraising sources and donors
• Strong interpersonal, communication and diplomatic skills with the ability to build partnerships, both within the organization, and with external partners and stakeholders.
• Evidence of analytical and technical writing skills is a plus
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in Thai, English preferred but not necessary
• Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel and other programmes
