INFORMATION AND COMMUNITY OUTREACH OFFICER

COERR FOUNDATION is a Thai NGO established in 1978 for the purpose of bringing aid to displaced persons in Thailand and those affected by natural disasters.

COERR FOUNDATION is urgently looking for experienced personnel to fill the post of Information and Community Outreach Officer, based in Bangkok.

LEVEL:  Junior level

TERMS OF REFERENCE

1. Responsible for providing information related to access to health care and general issues for refugees and asylum seekers at communities and the center.
2. Assist in referrals of cases which required treatment to public health care facilities, refer cases in urgent needs for further support, with consultation of nurse and supervisor.
3. Assist in collecting required documents relating to hospitals’ and community activities’ expenses before submission to finance-admin unit.
4. Provide primary health care for accident or sickness cases in consultation with nurse or supervisor, referral if needed.
5. Assist in home/community visits for chronic, disability and other cases in need.
6. Assist in community health volunteer project to be implemented accordingly as planned.
7. Facilitate/assist some patients at public hospitals/health centers and others.
8. Organize health education/training in communities as needed.
9. Assist in health promotion by creating board information, leaflet, brochure, VDO related to health issues.
10. Assist in community health awareness activities if needed.
11. Manage and supervise community health volunteers and interpreters in the hospital if needed.
12. Record & report of activities to supervisor
13. Rotate medical hotline/line application service.
14. Perform other duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Thai nationality
• Bachelor’s degree in public health, nursing, or related fields of study
• At least one year experience in community work/services
• Good English language skills
• Good computer skills
• Demonstrate experience/communication skill as a counsellor.
