Position: K9 Handler – OUR RESCUE

Location: Phayathai, Bangkok

 

Organization:

In its ten years of existence, OUR Rescue has helped thousands of victims, providing support to almost 30 countries and 50 states in the U.S. States.

 

Responsibilities:

We are looking to hire an energetic and skilled dog handler to provide training and care. The dog handler’s responsibilities include observing and assessing behavioral patterns in the dog, exercising the dog, and utilizing various dog-training techniques to correct problematic behaviors. Being able to assist police in search warrants anywhere in Thailand.

To be successful as a dog handler, you should be observant, patient, and adept at handling a labrador retriever. Ultimately, an outstanding dog handler should be able to remain calm in difficult situations as well as demonstrate exceptional communication and problem-solving skills. The desired candidate will be able to do the following:

  • Implement customized training program based on dogs’ training prior training and behavioral patterns.
  • Ensure that all sleep, play, and training areas are clean and sanitary.
  • Maintain accurate records of dogs’ training and medical needs, behavioral issues, personalized training programs, and progress.
  • Maintain and upkeep the equipment used in K9 dog training.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma.
  • Completion of an approved dog handler training program in USA for 2 weeks. (Sponsored by OUR after being hired)
  • Get recertified every year.
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Speak and understand English (preferred not required).
  • A love for dogs.
  • An observant, alert, and patient disposition.
  • Train K9 every day.
  • Dog must live with handler in loving and safe environment.
  • Be on call for police search warrants in all of Thailand. 
  • Experience in training K9 dogs (preferred not required).
  • Ability to work under pressure and with high motivation.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and dedication to the job.
