Position Title               :  Project Clerk

                                      (Open for Thai Nationals Only)

Duty Station                :  Bangkok, Thailand

Classification              :  General Service (G-3, THB 49,198.25 per month)

Type of Appointment  :  One Year Fixed-Term Contract

Initial 12 months with possibility of extension

Estimated Start Date  :  As soon as possible

Closing Date               :  15 May 2024

 

Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

 

1. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE:

Under the direct supervision of the National Project Officer in Thailand, the successful candidate will contribute to the development of activity plan and implementation of training and workshop under the Project “Enhancing the capacity of Thailand to combat Trafficking in Person and Smuggling of Migrants through Enhanced Border Management” funded by the Government of Canada in the IOM Thailand Country Office. The successful candidate will further support administrative arrangements in relation to implementation and activity under IBG Unit.

 

2. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

The successful candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide general/clerical assistance in the implementation of project activities.
  • Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics.
  • Assist in monitoring budget and updating budget related information.  
  • Support administrative coordination for project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units or external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process, and follow-up on administrative actions.
  • Draft status reports, correspondence, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, and other forms of documentation.
  • Support the organization of meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 

3. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

EDUCATION

  • High school degree with at least three years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or any related fields from an accredited institution with at least one year of relevant professional experience.

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
  • Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

 

SKILLS

  • Teamwork oriented but with a capacity to work independently
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Computer literate.

 

4. LANGUAGES

  • Fluency in Thai and English (oral and written) is required.
