Working Location : Salakpra Wildlife Sanctuary, WWF Bangkok Office
Major Functions:
The Project Officer (PO) will be responsible for field work implementation, financial and administrative aspects of the project, technical support, and assisting the Rewilding and Tiger Research Manager in achieving the project’s goals and targets, and ensuring that all activities comply with the project agreement, WWF’s contractual obligations, and donor requirements.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Project officer:
- Support the implementation of prey survey and augmentation program
- Support the implement habitat improvement
- Support DNP in translocations, including providing supplies, feed, and equipment for animal rearing, transport, holding, release, and post-release monitoring; Ensure compliance with WWF’s Translocations and Animal Handling and Environmental and Social Safeguards Standards
- Support DNP smart patrol and ranger capacity building
- Coordinate logistics with protected area staffs
- Updates the wildlife database
- Work closely with Thailand Department of National Parks, Wildlife, and Plant Conservation’s Wildlife Breeding Center Division and Protected Area staff
- Purchase supplies and equipment in collaboration with Finance Department
- Responsible and support on project’s finance and administrative
- Maintain project’s equipment
- Coordinate with partner INGOs/CSOs
- Support the report on activities according to donor requirements, Thailand government, and M&E plan
- Support other work as required
Required Qualifications
Required Skills and Competencies
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and diplomatic skills with the ability to work and interact with all partners
- Ability to travel and work in remote areas
- Experience in training field staff
- Familiarity with WWF’s Environmental Social Safeguard Framework (ESSF) or a similar framework is preferred
- Familiarity with governmental and non-governmental environmental conservation initiatives, key players, and challenges in Thailand
- Fluency in Thai and competence in English are strongly preferred
- Ability to drive is advantage
