ROLE DESCRIPTION:

About the Partnerships Unit

As a non-profit, Kenan Foundation relies on partnerships with a variety of stakeholders to meet its objectives and have sustainable impact. Kenan’s partners include bilateral and international agencies and a number of local and global corporate donors. The Partnerships Unit works closely with Kenan’s Technical Units to identify new partnership opportunities, develop proposals, and manage and steward partnerships as they evolve.

About the Partnerships Analyst Role

Kenan is seeking for the position of Partnerships Analyst to play an integral role of enhancing fundraising and business development activities through data analytics, effective CRM and database management, effective knowledge management, and by increasing efficiency in our processes. The ideal candidate would have strong analytical and organizational skills, be able to juggle multiple tasks and competing deadlines, and be able to take initiative to suggest new approaches to increasing efficiency and automating our partnerships processes. Previous experience managing CRM systems, in business development and/or in knowledge management roles is an asset.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Director of Partnerships, the Partnerships Analyst will:

  1. Support fundraising portfolio analysis and CRM process improvements to inform fundraising strategy and increase efficiency:
    • Conduct analysis of donor portfolio to monitor targets and track metrics for success through data analytics
    • Analyze donor portfolio for trends – assessing donor type, grant amount, industry and other elements to inform fundraising strategy and account management
    • Identify and implement solutions to build efficiency and automation in business development process
    • Keep Kenan’s CRM updated and accurate, ensuring each project is accurately tracked
  2. Act as main focal point for Knowledge Management for Partnerships Unit:
    • Ensure all partnerships information is maintained and accessible to the wider team in a logical manner
    • Improve, maintain and update the Partnership SharePoint site for internal knowledge sharing
    • Update proposal templates and support to streamline processes to increase efficiency of proposal writing process
  3. Contribute to business development and fundraising:
    • Regularly scan and analyze business development opportunities from a range of sources
    • Conduct systematic research on prospective donors, trends or market segments 
    • Contribute to proposal development process through targeted research, preparing supporting documents, tracking proposal process and following up with project team
    • Act as a point of contact between Kenan’s teams and potential donors to set up the meeting, follow up on key tasks, and ensure smooth operation between donor and Kenan’s
    • Support creation of communications or marketing assets, as needed
  4. Other assignments as instructed

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Highly analytical and data-driven
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and take responsibility for own workload, handle multiple priorities and to work independently
  • Familiar with business development and fundraising processes and eager to learn more
  • Sees opportunities and takes the initiative to act on them
  • Evaluates data and assesses courses of action to reach logical decisions.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a broad range of partners
  • Intermediate MS Office skills, ability to quickly adapt to and utilize new technologies
  • Proficiency in English writing and speaking

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

  • Education:  Bachelor/Master Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, International Development, Communications or a related field in development; advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years of related professional work experience in a business analyst role or in fundraising, sales, business development, international development, business consultancy or a similar field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in the development/social sector is highly desirable
  • Previous experience successfully developing systems and/or monitoring data analytics to improve efficiency
  • Previous experience using CRM software or other similar database (Salesforce, Monday.com, others)
  • Experience conducting market research to analyze donor/client trends.
  • Experience in partnerships building and/or external communications an asset.
  • Experience working with different sectors and stakeholders, including Governments, International Financial Institutions, UN and other development partners is desired.
  • Preferred experience: Knowledge of donor landscape in Southeast Asia; experience developing project proposals or project designs for development projects; sound understanding of business development process within non-profit sector.
