Malteser International is a German non-governmental organization providing humanitarian assistance and development aid for people in need in over 20 countries. Malteser International is currently working with temporary refugee shelters and surrounding villages in Sob-Moei district, Mae Hong Son province in Thailand. Our office located in Mae Sariang is looking for an efficient, motivated and experienced Thai national for the position as Community Health Worker Supervisor

Duty Station: Mae Sariang District

Work locations: Mae Sariang District and  Sob Moei District

Duration: One year with possible extension

Salary: Negotiable

Main Responsibilities/Duties

1. Plan and implement monthly head counting and health education during home visits.
2. Plan and implement age-specific cluster health education session in both shelters with CHWs.
3. Take a leading role in the development of health promotion and educational materials together with the supervisor.
4. Plan and organize health promotion campaigns in both shelters organized by Malteser International, together with the supervisor.
5. Support CHAGs in both shelters in planning and implementing health and hygiene-related activities and campaigns.
6. Participate in outbreak control and prevention activities, including case investigation and active case finding in shelters. Provide clear instructions to CHWs regarding their roles in controlling outbreak in shelters.
7. Support NCD screening campaigns in both shelters together with other responsible MSR and camp-level staffs.
8. Collaborate with other organizations and MI camp-based staff in planning and implementing school health campaigns in the Shelters.
9. Collaborate with teachers involved health and hygiene promotion activities in shelter schools.
10. Support and assign CHWs for vector-borne disease prevention activities such as larvae surveys, active case detection, and mosquito net distribution
11. Plan, organize, and conduct basic and refresher training for Community Heath Worker and Return Support staff in both Shelters.

Essential Qualifications/Skills:

• Professional qualification and/or proven experience in the fields of Social Work, Education, Social sciences, Public health or other relevant field - respective diploma/degree would be an asset.
•   1 – 3 years of  experience in the health sector, either in private of government roles.
• Experience working with INGOs, NGOs, or CBOs, and experience working with Shelters along the Thailand – Myanmar border.
• Experience in planning and implementing community health education and health promotion campaigns.
• Fluent in Thai, English, and Sgaw Karen (writing, reading, and speaking)
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a multicultural team environment.
• Willing to travel to the field and stay overnight in remote villages
