Thailand since 1975 and currently provides assistance to displaced persons in Tak, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi and Mae Hong Son provinces.  

 

Job Overview/Summary:   The driver is assigned to achieve safe transportation and effective vehicle maintenance including support service in timely manner in compliance with IRC Thailand’s guiding principles and rules and regulations.  

Major Responsibilities:  

  1. To ensure efficient driving and maintenance of IRC vehicle in compliance with IRC rules and regulations (vehicle policy etc.,) 
  2. Respect of the Thai traffic rules, the safety orders, the travel schedules, and IRC policies.
  3. To ensure the efficient condition and readiness for use of vehicle as well as its maintenance on daily basis in compliance with IRC Thailand’s procedure.
  4. To enact safe driving practices at all times for all IRC Staff and visitors.
  5. Serve as a driver for IRC staff and visitors in a timely manner, in strict adherence to traffic rules and safe driving practices.
  6. Perform regular vehicle checks according to IRC Thailand’s procedure.
  7. Keep the vehicle clean and check vehicle’s condition every time before and after each journey.
  8. Ensure all vehicle documentation, camp passes etc., are in the vehicle before each journey.
  9. Complete vehicle log sheets after each journey.
  10. To take care of vehicle’s license annually.
  11. To transport documents, materials or other items to appropriate destinations as requested by supervisor.
  12. Assist with minor repairs to vehicles and/or IRC office as required.
  13. To perform other duties as assigned.   

 

Key Working Relationships: 

Position Reports to:  Fleet Officer

Technical Oversight/ Support to: Programs staff, Operations staff, and Visitors

 

Job Requirements: 

Education:                                       

•   At least certificate of Secondary education (M.3) with official driving license

•   At least 3 years’ experience in off road driving

 

Work Experience and/or Demonstrated Abilities: 

• Ability to work well under pressure.

• Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance

Skills

• Strong coordination and communication with staff during providing transport assistance

• Service mind

• Good decision making

• Team Player
 

Certificates or Licenses: Driving License

 

Working Environment:

The position will be based in Mae sot District, Tak Province with extensive travel to others field site.
